Andre Hawkins Obituary News: Maryland Heights resident Andre Hawkins killed In Alton shooting Homicide

In a tragic turn of events, a Maryland Heights resident, Andre Hawkins, lost his life in a fatal shooting in Alton, as announced by Madison County State’s Attorney Thomas Haine.

The alleged perpetrator, identified as 44-year-old Antonio Baker, now faces two charges of first-degree murder in connection with the death of the 34-year-old Hawkins.

Details from Baker’s detention petition reveal that law enforcement suspected him of placing Hawkins’ lifeless body into a truck registered under his ownership in Florissant.

The truck then made its way to Alton, reaching the vicinity of Lincoln Avenue at 11:09 p.m. Moments later, at around 11:29 p.m., multiple gunshots were reportedly heard by officers. By 11:30 p.m., Baker was observed driving away from the scene.

The lifeless body of Hawkins was discovered approximately 50 feet from where Baker had parked his truck, the petition disclosed. Shockingly, Hawkins had suffered 15 gunshot wounds.

A subsequent search warrant executed at Baker’s residence uncovered a handgun and a shotgun, along with ammunition matching the caliber of the shell casings found at the crime scene, according to the petition.
