The Lakeview District in Birmingham, Alabama, was the location of a tragic shooting that took place over the weekend, leaving the neighborhood in a state of shock.
In the vicinity of 2:50 in the morning, the Birmingham Police Department received reports of gunfire, which alerted off-duty security personnel at a neighboring pub to the alarming sounds coming from the 700 block of 29th Street South.
As cops rushed to the site, they located two males who had suffered severe injuries just next to a food truck.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office reported that at 3:02 in the morning, a man who was later identified as Antonio Deandre Benson, who was 28 years old and from Birmingham, gave in to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
This tragic event occurred. The other victim, who was struggling for his life, was rushed to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital in a hurry.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the name of the deceased individual, Antonio Deandre Benson.
In light of this information, the Birmingham Police Department has increased its investigation into what is now being considered a homicide case.
