Athiya Shetty is an actress who was born on 5th November 1992, hailing from India and works in the Bollywood film industry. She was born to the famed Indian actor, Suneel Shetty, and Mana Shetty. Athiya Shetty appeared in a debut movie “Hero” for which she was honored with a Filmfare Award nomination for the category of Best Female Debut. Her father belongs to a Tulu speaking family, while her mother belongs to a Punjabi Hindu and Gujarati Muslim family. Athiya Shetty has a brother named Ahan Shetty with whom she shares a strong bond. Athiya Shetty studied from Cathedral and John Connon School and later attended the American School of Bombay. During studies, she took part in various school plays alongside the renowned actors’ Shraddha Kapoor and Tiger Shroff. Later, she moved to NYC to study at the New York Film Academy. It was the time when she was just 18 years of age. It seems she is so passionate about acting at her young age.

Career

In 2015, Athiya Shetty took the start of her professional career with romantic-action movie “Hero” which was directed by Nikhil Advani while it was produced by Salman Khan and co-written by Advani and Umesh Bist. It was the remake of Subhash Ghai’s directorial “1983 –Hero”. However, the film did well at the box office and earned a total of 34.82 crores Indian currency. In the movie, Athiya Shetty appeared as an aspiring dancer Radha Mathur who falls in love with her kidnapper Sooraj Pancholi who played the role of a kidnapper in the movie. What’s more, she earned a Filmfare Award nomination for the category of Best Female Debut. After this movie, she appointed as a brand ambassador for the Indian franchise of “Maybelline New York. Meanwhile, she got featured in various magazines including Cosmopolitan, Verve, and others. After the break of 2 years, she then made an appearance in the rom-com movie “Mubarakan” in which she worked alongside Anil Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, and Ileana D’Cruz. Fortunately, the film rocked at the box office and for the outstanding performance, Athiya Shetty received positive reviews. In 2018, she was seen in a music video named “Tere Naal Nachna” which was composed, written and sung by Badshah. It was composed for a movie named “Nawabzaade” which was produced by Remo D’Souza. While it was choreographed by Jayesh Pradhan. In 2019, she was seen in a comedy-drama named “Motichoor Chaknachoor” in which she worked alongside Nwazuddin Siddiqui. Now, she going to appear in the biopic film of footballer Afshan Ashiq “Hope Solo”.
