Camila manages to keep her true harshness hidden so effectively that even Wendy Byrde believes she can control her. However, it quickly becomes apparent that Camila is a cunning adversary, and the Byrdes ultimately decide to switch allegiances with her. As a result, Omar Navarro is slain, and Camila is elevated to the position of cartel leader. She also goes on a hunt for her son’s assassin, and she exacts a horrific form of vengeance on him.
