Chase Sharp Trailer Accident: A Bay Minette man is dead after crashing into the back of a tractor-trailer early Monday morning.

34-year-old Chase Sharp, of Bay Minette, was killed after the SUV he was driving struck the rear of a tractor-trailer on I-65 at around 6 a.m., according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).

According to ALEA, the tractor trailer had broken down moments before the crash and was partially obstructing the route. While the ongoing investigation is being carried out by Troopers from the ALEA Highway Patrol Division, there is not yet any fresh information that is accessible.

The incident did not result in the injury of anyone else.

Sharp was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to ALEA. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

ALEA says the tractor trailer was disabled and partially in the roadway at the time of the crash.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.

No one else was injured.
