Dennis Shaffer Obituary: 72-year-old man dead after falling from grain bin in Upper Macungie Township.

Following his fall from a grain bin in Upper Macungie Township on Sunday, a 72-year-old man passed away.

Dennis D. Shaffer, of the 9000 block of Main Street, fell approximately 34 feet from the top of a grain bin at around 10:10 a.m. on Sunday, according to Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio.

Schaffer slipped and fell, according to Buglio, while attempting to fix a broken device atop the grain bin. At the scene, he was declared deceased.

Multiple blunt force injuries were the coroner’s office judged to be the cause of death, with an accidental way of death.

Police in Upper Macungie are looking into it.
