There is no dearth of funny memes on the internet, but Druski’s reaction to a rapper during an Instagram live never gets old!

Druski has grown to establish himself as Hip Hop’s new favorite comedian. That’s thanks to his sketches and comical chops that entertained people during the pandemic when everyone remained cooped up in their homes. His viral facial expression accompanied by “What do you mean by that?” has been etched on the minds of meme lovers.

If you aren’t aware of the origin of the famous Druski meme, let us tell you everything we know…

How the Druski meme was born

On December 5, 2020, Druski was live on Instagram. He invited a couple of random guests for a tete-a-tete and one among them was rapper Grillz.

As the rapper started talking about quite a few questionable events from his life, Druski kept teasing him, until the former started to sing. When the comedian heard him say “taking lives”, he stopped the rapper to ask, “what you mean by that?”, looking puzzled.

He didn’t just stop at that as Druski went on to pull his leg further, but all in good humor.

Although the entire clip was found to be extremely funny by the viewers, Druski’s expression and dialogue inspired the famous meme that continues to dominate the internet to date.

The video is still available on Druski’s Instagram. However, it is warned that explicit language has been used in the clip.

‘What do you mean’ jokes still dominate Twitter

As we are nearing the end of 2022, it’s almost two years since Druski’s meme was born. But, it continues to inspire new jokes each day as Twitter users actively post memes related to the popular expression.

Here are some of the best ones we found:

Druski is not only the face of the viral meme, but he has featured in a number of music videos by high-profile artists as well. He’s seen in Drake’s Laugh Now Cry Later, Lil Yatchy’s Oprah’s Bank Account, and even Jack Harlow’s Tyler Herro.

As GQ reports, his fans also include Jalen Ramsey, Floyd Mayweather, and Odell Beckham Jr., with whom he has gone live.

Although Druski has achieved great heights in the entertainment industry, he was born into a family that was education-focused.

His father is a pilot, who attended Howard University and graduated from the United States Air Force Academy, while his mother has a master’s degree in Science in Public Health.

Druski went to Georgia Gwinnett College for a few years before transferring to Georgia Southern University in Statesboro. However, he dropped out after two semesters to pursue a career in comedy.
