A viral TikTok has left viewers utterly disgusted and given the platform the new catchphrase ‘Cmon Cody’ after a groom spelled out a raunchy wedding vow for his bride on their big day
TikTok is teeming with videos of wedding fails and people butchering their wedding vows. However, a recent clip of a groom’s embarrassing wedding vow probably tops them all. The video has since been picked up by many TikTok creators, who are bashing the groom for the uncomfortable moment.
Groom goes viral for eccentric wedding vow
The video sees a groom and his bride standing at the altar during their wedding ceremony, and it was time for them to exchange their vows.
When asked to spell out his vows, the man simply says “I promise to smack that a** every chance I get”.
He then looks at his stunning wife-to-be and says “That’s all I got” before breaking out into a fit of laughter.
The wedding officiant, who looks a little dumbfounded at this moment, asks “Is that it?” as he stares at the groom, who keeps laughing. The priest throws the proverbial life vest at the groom a second time, asking “Are you sure?”
“I didn’t write nothing out,” said the groom in what was a really awkward moment for everyone involved. You can even hear someone from the wedding party shout, “Come on Cody,” which has become TikTok’s new catchphrase.
The priest gives the groom another opportunity to correct himself by asking “That’s what you’re going out with?” After responding affirmatively, the soon-to-be husband says: “We’ve made it this long.”
TikTok reacts to ‘Cmon Cody’ wedding vow video
Most TikTok users said they would have left the groom at the altar if they were the bride in this situation. A few others noted how the pastor tried to save the situation multiple times, but the groom just didn’t get the hint.
“’Come on Cody!’ You can hear the disappointment in that guy’s voice” noted one user, while another wrote: “I swear to God I would leave him at the altar.”
“I would probably cry. He didn’t care enough about her to write vows??” said another user.
“The fact that she probably had a whole speech and that’s all he said….” a third person commented, feeling sad for the bride.
“He saw the other bad wedding vows guy and was like ‘Perfect, I have it covered'” joked a fourth user.
“The pastor threw him a life vest like three times and he still drowned,” pointed another one.
Among those who commented on the video was TikTok’s famous Life Coach Shawnda. She noted how nobody was expecting the groom to write a sonnet or a haiku, but he could have done much better than that.
She notes if the groom ever got a chance to meet his favorite singer and was asked to write a beautiful and passionate letter for them, he would have put more effort into that than he did into his vows.
