*WARNING: Spoilers ahead for Criminal Minds: Evolution episode 5*

We all love an enthralling crime drama and the latest episode of Criminal Minds: Evolution offers up plenty for fans, and the episode’s killer, to get their teeth stuck into.

While the rebooted series is telling an interconnected story, each episode has still featured a new serial killer for the FBI’s BAU to investigate.

And with that has come a host of new cast members with each new chapter but just who appears in episode 5 of Criminal Minds: Evolution?

Episode 5 of the rebooted series arrived on Paramount+ in the US on December 15 and follows internationally on Disney+ on December 16.

Titled Oedipus Wrecks, the episode sees the BAU team tasked with solving the murders of several young DC socialites whose bodies have been found covered in razor-sharp teeth marks.

The team must employ some unorthodox methods in an effort to find the sadistic killer but the case is complicated when a connection emerges to a high-profile politician.

Guest star spotlight

Luke Benward as Benjamin Reeves

Taking on the role of episode 5’s killer is Luke Benward. After beginning introduced as a teeth-bearing UnSub (Unknown Subject), his identity is revealed to be Benjamin Reeves, the son of high-profile senator, Martha Reeves.

The 27-year-old actor has two decades’ worth of acting experience after making his debut as a child actor in the 2002 film We Were Soldiers. More recently, Luke has appeared in the like of Ravenswood, Good Luck Charlie, See Dad Run, The Goldbergs, CSI, Still The King, and the films Measure Of A Man, Life Of The Party, Grand Isle and Playing God.

Allie Davis as Rose Clark

Joining Benjamin in the first scene is Rose Clark, a young government employee and the episode’s tragic murder victim.

The actress playing Rose is Allie Davies, a California-born actress who has frequently appeared on our screens since her 2016 debut with roles in Catfish: The TV Show, NCIS as well as the short films Morning, The Abduction Project and Tristan 23.

Richard David as Mitch Nevins

Ohio-born but Atlanta-raised Richard David takes on the role of Benjamin’s assistant, Mitch Nevins, in episode 5.

As well as playing his shady Criminal Minds character, Richard has 10 previous roles to his name, with appearances in Chicago Med and Chicago PD, as well as Ruthless, Empire and the 2022 film Christmas With My Ex.

Jacqueline Piñol as Dr Judith Mertz

Jacqueline Piñol has appeared on Criminal Minds before but her last appearance as Dr Judith Metz came back in season 11’s opening episode.

Besides that, the actress has a whopping 70 roles to her name and will be best known for her stint as Julie Espinosa in Bosch while she’s also appeared in American Horror Story, General Hospital, CSI: NY and the PlayStation Spider-Man games where she voices Rio Morales.

Beth Broderick as Senator Martha Reeves

Acting stalwart Beth Broderick appears in a pivotal role in episode 5 as Senator Martha Reeves.

She has been appearing on our screens since the 1980s and has almost 100 credits to her name with notable roles coming in the TV series Walker, Sharp Objects, Bosch, Under The Dome, Lost as well as Sabrina The Teenage Witch and the recent Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina.

Monica Azcarate as Jessica Sayer

And finally, we end with Monica Azcarate who plays Jessica Sayer, a survivor of one of Benjamin’s attacks.

The actress made her debut in 2015 and since then, she has appeared in the likes of The Afterparty, Natasha Hall, The Price We Pay and The Struggle Is Real.
