Thor has been a part of the MCU since 2011. He is one of the characters who has been around the longest, and it goes without saying that he has seen a lot of action in that time.
Thor has worked so hard that he even lost an eye, but in the latest Marvel movie, Thor: Love and Thunder, the God of Thunder’s eyes seem to be back to normal. This has left fans with a lot of questions.
HOW DID THOR LOSE HIS EYE?
In the 2017 movie Thor: Ragnarok, Thor lost an eye while fighting his sister Hela.
Hela, the Goddess of Death, became the bad guy in the third Thor movie after Odin died and let her out of the prison where she had been held for years.
She moved quickly to take over Asgard and claim its throne. After some shenanigans on the planet Sakar, Thor comes back for a dramatic last showdown.
Hela hits Thor with her sword during the battle, causing him to lose his right eye, just like what happened to their father Odin.
After fighting the final battle with a dark wound, Thor wears an eye patch at the end of the movie. He keeps this look in Avengers: Infinity War as well.
HOW DID THOR GET HIS EYE BACK?
In Avengers: Infinity War, Rocket Racoon gave Thor a new bionic eye.
Thanos attacks the Asgardian ship at the beginning of the movie. Thor is left floating in space until the Guardians of the Galaxy show up to check out the wreckage.
They bring him on board and quickly come up with a plan to stop Thanos. Thor, Rocket, and Groot go to Niavellir to have a new weapon made.
Rocket knows that Thor will need to be at full strength to fight Thanos, so he gives the God of Thunder the bionic replacement and tells him that he stole it from someone on Contraxia from whom he won a bet.
Thor needs some time to get used to his new eye, which is orange instead of blue like his left eye.
Fans have noticed that in Thor: Love and Thunder, the bionic eye seems to have changed color. It is now blue, which is the same color as in the first movie.
The new eyewear in Love and Thunder is talked about by fans
Even though the changes to Thor’s look in Love and Thunder are small, fans have noticed them right away.
One fan wrote on Twitter, “They never said how Thor’s right eye suddenly changed from orange to blue.”
Another person said, “I hate how they got rid of Thor’s orange eye in Infinity War and Endgame. It was a great way to honor Heimdall. It seems like no one told Taika about it and he never noticed it in the movies.”
This fan thinks that Thor shouldn’t have been given a new eye: “I kind of wished that MCU had kept Thor’s eyepatch.”
This fan said, “No one ever talks about it, but Thor losing an eye in Thor Ragnarok just so he can get a new one in the next movie is the most pointless thing that could have been written.”
“The worst thing they did was make Thor’s right eye blue again,” said another Twitter user.
“Did they forget Thor lost an eye or what?” The fan wrote this.
And finally, this fan wondered why Thor’s eyes changed color. “In Infinity War, Rocket gives Thor a new eye, but it’s brown. In Love and Thunder, both of Thor’s eyes are blue again, so I wonder if they’ll explain it or if he just didn’t want to wear contacts in one eye,” the fan said.
