Dash & Lily arrived on Netflix in November but some fans have been left asking “how old are Dash and Lily?” and are unconvinced they’re really teenagers.
The festive Netflix rom-com tells the story of two New York teens who fall in love over the pages of a clue-filled notebook.
It’s a cheerful and cheesy watch, perfect for the run-up to Christmas.
However, some fans have been left wondering how old Dash and Lily are, as they believe the actors playing them look a little too old.

Dash & Lily arrived on Netflix on November 10th, 2020.
The series, which is based on the book Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares, tells the story of Dash, a cynical sourpuss who hates Christmas, and Lily, a hopeful teen who’s looking for love.
The cheery and cheesy rom-com is set on its way when Dash finds a mysterious notebook filled with clues in his favourite bookstore.

How old are Dash and Lily?
In episode 3, Lily is revealed to be 17 years old when she’s trying to get into the Jewish punk show.
Dash’s age, meanwhile, is never overtly revealed, although it’s repeatedly mentioned that he, like Lily, is a teenager.
In the book that the show’s based on, both characters are 16 years old and have been aged up by a year for the show according to Insider.
As they’re both the same age in the book, it’s possible to assume that they’re the same age as each other in the TV series as well.
How old are their actors?
Dash and Lily are played by Austin Abrams and Midori Francis respectively.
Austin Abrams was born on September 2nd, 1996, and is 24 years old at the time of writing.
Midori Francis, meanwhile, was born in New Jersey on April 6, 1994, and as a result, is 26 years old, making her nine years older than her character.
While both actors are a fair bit older than the characters they are portraying, they definitely do a decent job of playing teenagers, unlike some TV series where clearly fully grown adults are supposed to be playing high school teens.
Dash & Lily is available to stream now on Netflix after releasing on November 10th, 2020.
