2. Add trusted sites in Firefox
- In Firefox, open the website you want to add to the trusted websites list.
- Click the Shield icon left of the address bar and uncheck Enhanced Tracking Protection.

3. Add trusted sites in Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer
Note: Microsoft Edge by default doesn’t support trusted websites feature, but you can change trusted websites from Internet Explorer and that should affect Edge as well.
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Click the Gear icon in the top right corner. Choose Internet Options from the menu.
- Now go to Security, select Trusted sites and click on Sites.
- Add the desired website and that’s it.
Alternatively, you can open the Internet Options window by doing the following:
- Press Windows Key + R to open the Run window.
- Enter inetcpl.cpl and press Enter or click OK.

Google’s Chrome browser is arguably the best on the market currently, as it is extremely fast, easy to use, and highly customizable. Even though the majority of us use Chrome every day, we don’t really pay that much attention to the browser’s settings and options. The default settings are supposed to improve your web experience, but they also give companies and third-party trackers access to your online data. So if you would like to protect your privacy, or just tinker around with some of the content settings, here is what you need to know:
Accessing Content Settings
Make sure you have the latest version of Chrome. If you don’t, you can download the latest one by going to Google Chrome’s download site. You may also be able to just close and restart your Chrome browser.
- Open your Chrome browser and click on the three dots on the top right side of your tab. This will open a dropdown menu.
- Now, click on Settings near the bottom of the menu.
- Under the Privacy and security section, find Site Settings and click on it. This will open the Site Settings tab, where you can tinker with your Chromes content options.
Changing Your Site Settings
There are a lot of settings to play with, so we will cover what each one does and how to change them.
Cookies and Site Data
Sites create files called cookies when you visit them. These small files allow you to have a more convenient web experience by storing browsing info. Cookies allow sites to keep your accounts active, store website settings, and provide you with local content. If you delete cookies, the sites will sign you out of your accounts while also resetting the stored settings.
- To remove cookies, click on Cookies and site data.
- Then, scroll down and click on See all cookies and site data.
- Now, click on Remove All. If you want to remove cookies individually, you can click on the Trash Can icon next to the chosen website.
Location
- Follow the steps listed above to get to the Site Settings page, you can also type “chrome://settings/content” into your Search bar and hit Enter.
- Now, click on Location.
- In the preset, Chrome will ask you when a site wants to see your location. To let the site know where you are, choose Allow.
- To block websites from accessing your location, you can toggle it off by pressing Ask before accessing .
Camera and Microphone
Some websites like Google Hangouts or Skype will request to use your camera or microphone, and you can allow or block it when prompted.

Motion Sensors

With the default setting, Chrome will alert you when a site, application, or extension wishes to notify you. You can change this at your leisure. If you don’t want to get any notifications try using Incognito mode.
JavaScript
If you disable JavaScript, in some cases you will not be able to use certain features on a website while other websites might break completely or you will be stuck using a very old version of the page. It is highly recommended for you to keep this toggled on.
Images
With the default setting, this option is toggled on, which means that Chrome will display all images on a website. You should only toggle this off if your internet connection is really weak or slow, and you can’t load the images quickly.
Pop-ups and Redirects
With the default setting, Google Chrome prevents pop-ups from showing up on your screen. It is highly recommended to keep this option toggled on. If pop-ups keep appearing it is very likely your computer is infected with malware.
Chrome doesn’t offer an option to block all ads on websites, but it will block them on sites where they are intrusive or misleading. It is recommended to keep it this way, and if you would like to completely block ads, you can find some highly-rated extensions that do that on the Chrome web store.
Background Sync
This option allows websites to keep sending and receiving data in the background even when you close them. You should keep this option toggled on as it will make your web experience smoother.
Sound
If you want to prevent websites from playing sound, you can toggle this off.
Automatic downloads
The default setting requires sites to ask permission to download multiple files, but you can toggle it Off if you are worried about malware.
Unsandboxed Plugin Access
You can switch between blocking plugins from all websites and sites asking for permission. The toggled-on option is recommended.
Handlers
Protocol handlers handle links and URLs with certain schemes. Keep this toggled on.
MIDI Devices
Musical Instrument Digital Interface or MIDI is a protocol designed for recording and playing back music on digital synthesizers. Keep this toggled on.
Zoom Levels
The default zoom level on Chrome is 100%. You can manually adjust a website’s page magnification by using Ctrl and “+” or “-“.
USB Devices
Keep it toggled on for sites to ask permission when they want access to USB devices. If you don’t want to allow any access, toggle it off.
File Editing
You can toggle it off if you want to block sites from editing files or folders on your device.
PDF Documents
Chrome automatically opens PDF files in the browser. Toggle this on if you want to download them instead.
Protected Content
Clipboard
With the default setting, you will be asked when a site wants to see text and images copied to the clipboard.
Payment Handlers
Keep it toggled on to allow sites to install payment handlers. If you don’t want sites to install payment handlers, toggle it Off.

A new Google Chrome update is currently being rolled out to Android and other platforms, and from a user data protection perspective, this is one of the most important updates. The new update enables users to change site permissions for individual sites, and Google said it will expand these permissions in the future. In addition, the new Google browser update also allows users to better access the site.
Chrome actions allow you to easily verify the security of your browser and a registered account. Finally, Google added that it has improved website isolation technology and improved phishing detection, which seems to have a significant impact on the browser’s speed and stability.
Starting with site permissions, the latest updates to Google Chrome for Android and all other platforms will soon allow users to grant a specific set of permissions to each site. This can be done by clicking the lock button on the upper left from the address bar. 3-D printing possible on moon, yes seriously, you read it right. In order to accomplish this kind of work, the team developed a 3D printer called Vulcan. Vulcan is just a machine that can be configured to print paper up to 2.6 meters, 8.5 meters wide and 21.3 meters long.

One of the main problems is building materials. What kind of moon can you wear? Well, a lot of dust. Vulcan currently uses a material called Lavacrete, which is basically a flowable concrete that can quickly harden and form layer by layer walls. But imagine what it would be like to transport millions of pounds of concrete for construction.
The concept of this shoe is called a lunar spring ejection device, which aims to solve the problems caused by engine exhaust hitting the dusty surface of the moon. For malfunctioning websites in Google Chrome, clearing the browser cache and cookies usually works like a charm. It can help fix unresponsive site elements, weird anomalies, and even browser crashes most of the time. But do you need to delete all cached web content and go through the hassle of signing in everywhere? Well, removing all that data just for one misbehaving site sounds like an overreaction.
If an issue is limited to any single site, simply clearing the cache and cookies associated with the site itself should suffice. Thankfully, Chrome provides a couple of ways to help you do that.
The first method is quite straightforward and helps you clear the cookies and cache of any website immediately. The second method takes a bit long but has its uses, such as instances where you must clear cached data across a group of related websites.
Clear Chrome Cookies and Cache for One Site Only
Chrome lets you quickly clear the cache and the cookies for a single website. You can then load the most recent instance of the site and (hopefully) resolve any issues you encountered. If you are logged into the site, you will have to sign back after clearing the cached data.
However, this method will not clear cached data across related sites or subdomains. For example, clearing the cache and cookies in Gmail (mail.google.com) will not delete the data in Google Photos (photos.google.com). If you want to delete data across all subdomains, then skip ahead to the next method.
Step 1: Load the site in Google Chrome, and then click the padlock-shaped symbol to the left corner of the address bar.
Note: If the site doesn’t have a secure connection to your web browser, you will see a ‘Not secure’ label in place of the padlock-shaped icon—click it instead.
Step 2: On the context menu that shows up, click Site Settings.
Step 3: Chrome will load a new tab listing site-related usage data and permissions. Click the button labeled Clear Data under the Usage section.
Step 4: Click Clear Data on the confirmation pop-up. Chrome will immediately clear the cache and cookies for the site.
Refresh the website. Chrome will start loading fresh site data and cookies.
Note: If you deleted the cache and cookies of a subdomain website but didn’t resolve any issues, you may want to delete the data across other related subdomains.
Alternative Method: Clear Chrome Cookies and Cache for One Site Only
If you can’t use the method above (the site causes Chrome to crash while loading, for example), you can instead dive into the Chrome Settings, locate the website manually, and then clear its cache and cookies. You can also use this method to clear the cached data of a subdomain or group of subdomains.
Start by typing chrome://settings/content/all into a Chrome address bar. Press Enter to load a list of all cached sites—if a site contains multiple subdomains, you can access them by expanding the main (root) domain.
Tip: Open the Chrome menu, click Settings > Privacy and Security > Site Settings > ‘View permissions and data stored across sites’ to get to the same screen, as shown above.
Clearing Cookies and Cache in a Site or Subdomain
You can quickly go about deleting the cookies and cache of a single website by using the steps below.
Step 1: Locate the site and click on it. If you want to clear the cookies and cache of a subdomain website (mail.google.com, for example), first expand the listing for the site’s root domain (google.com), and then select the subdomain.
Tip: Use the search bar to the upper-right corner of the screen to filter sites by the domain name.
Step 2: Click the button labeled Clear Data.
Step 3: Click Clear Data again on the confirmation box.
Chrome will clear the data related to the selected site.
Clearing Cached Data in a Group of Subdomains
Sometimes, you must delete the cached data across multiple related subdomain websites in Chrome to resolve issues. Rather than deleting the cache and cookies for each subdomain manually, you can delete all data using the following steps.
Step 1: Click the three-dot icon next to the main domain.
Step 2: Click Clear Data.
Step 3: Click Clear Data again to confirm.
That should delete all cached data belonging to the main domain and subdomains.

Clearing the cookies and cache for a single website, subdomain, or group of related websites can quickly resolve isolated issues. Since it isn’t an iron-clad solution, you may have to consider deleting the entire Google Chrome cache in cases of persistent problems. With Google Chrome’s built-in QR code option on your desktop, you can make QR codes for any sites and web pages you visit in the browser. When others scan them, they’ll be taken to the site. Here’s how to use it.
Why Make a QR Code in Chrome?
There are many reasons to generate QR codes for websites. One neat reason is that you can quickly send a website from your desktop browser to your smartphone. With a QR code in Chrome, you just have to point your phone’s camera to a QR code on your desktop, and the site opens on your phone.
Other reasons include adding a QR code to your documents, spreadsheets, presentations, emails, and more. Chrome lets you save the QR codes as images, so you can basically use them anywhere you want.
Make a Web Address QR Code in Chrome on Desktop
Since Chrome has a built-in QR code generator, you don’t have to install any third-party extensions to get the job done. To start, launch Chrome on your Windows, Mac, Linux, or Chromebook computer. Then access the site you want to turn into a QR code.
At the top of Chrome, click the address bar to reveal the QR code option.
In the far right of the address bar, you will now see various icons. Click the “Create QR Code For This Page” icon (which is a partial square icon with four small squares in it).
Instantly, Chrome will open a “Scan QR Code” pop-up with your generated QR code in it. You can now scan this QR code from your iPhone or Android phone (or any other QR code scanner for that matter).
To save this QR code as an image to your computer, at the bottom-right corner of the “Scan QR Code” pop-up, click “Download.”
You’ll see your computer’s standard “Save As” window. Select a folder to save your QR code image in, type a name for the image, and click “Save.”

How to add LastPass to Chrome

1. Go to the Chrome Web Store.
2. Search “LastPass” in the search box.
3. Select “LastPass: Free Password Manager.”
4. Click “Add to Chrome.”
5. Click “Add extension” in the pop-up confirmation window — you should get a confirmation message once it’s been installed.

1. Aw,Snap! Crash Error
This is a popular error happens mostly due to the low memory at that point of time. The quick fix is to reload the page or free up the memory for the browser to load the page.

2. ERR_INTERNET_DISCONNECTED
This is a clear message to indicate the internet connection is not available. The most common reason is that your WiFi connection is dropped.
Possibly reset the modem and check the internet connection on other devices you have.
3. ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED
Each website address is linked to a physical IP address on the web. This is the IP address of the web server from which the website is retrieved to the requested browser window. When Chrome can’t map the website address entered to an IP address then you will see the error “ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED”.
This essentially means the website is down or the domain name system (DNS) in your location could not resolve the site address to an IP. If only particular site is not opening then find the IP address of that site and directly enter the IP address on the browser’s address bar.
If you see the site opens then change your DNS to Google public DNS or approach your internet service provider (ISP) for more details.
4. ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR
SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer which is a protocol to securely connect to a web server. Nowadays, Chrome insists a SSL certificate for all websites that collect data from users. Most probable reason for this error is incorrect configuration at server side that the data received is not understandable by Chrome. Sometimes the error also occurs due to the blocking and firewall on your computer.
Check the followings:

If everything is working fine from your end then the error is at the web server which you can’t influence.
5. ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT
This is a most common error appears due to the webpage takes long time to connect. There are two simple reasons for connection timing out error.
- Slow internet connection – your internet connection is very slow to get the data from the server. Check other webpages are opening fast and also the VPN/proxy servers are working fine if you use. Slow server – most of the sites are hosted in a shared hosting platform where the same IP address is shared with hundreds of other websites. When many users visit the site the server will be too slow to respond and the connection will be timed out. Here you can open the page after few minutes and you can’t influence if the problem persists.
Some countries and ISPs block many services like Google, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc. For example, when you are in China, you will see the connection timed out issue more frequently as most global sites will have Facebook and other social follow buttons. These services will run longtime without any response and finally fail due to time out.
6. ERR_CONNECTION_RESET
Connection reset error indicates the change of IP address while viewing the page. The reasons here could be either your ISP changed something or your VPN/proxy connection might got dropped.
You can check the internet is working fine and simply refresh the page to reopen again.
7. ERR_NETWORK_CHANGED
This is a similar error like connection reset that the network is changed while viewing the page. Check your VPN/proxy server is dropped in-between otherwise your ISP might have done some changes in the DNS settings.

8. ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED
You will see the connection refused error when the web server does not allow the request received from your browser. It could be due to the site is down or the corrupted cookies stored in your browser sends wrong data. Clear the browser history and check the page is opening now.

9. ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE

- Now to make it even more interesting and protective, you can redirect the blocked URL instead of show blocked. This will trick the user to think that there is something wrong with the computer or internet connection. You can access these setting by going into the options of this extension.
- Furthermore, for additional security, you can buy the premium version of the extension to enable password uninstallation protection.
- You can also block websites that contain certain words and phrases using “Blocked Words” option in the extension.

You may be wondering how a site looks with or without JavaScript. On Chrome, JavaScript is enabled by default, but you can disable it fairly quickly to see what a site looks like without all the moving parts. Here’s how.
Why Should I Enable or Disable JavaScript?
Modern websites have a lot of moving parts. Almost every online magazine and blog runs ads to support the site’s staff. With JavaScript enabled, you’re able to see these ads (and support the site as a result).
Most websites require JavaScript to be enabled for all its bells and whistles to work properly, too. For example, if you disable JavaScript in your browser, you can say goodbye to automatic timeline updates on Twitter. With JavaScript enabled, you’re able to take advantage of most features that make websites around the web great.
There may come a time, though, when you want to block ads on certain sites, or see how a website looks without JavaScript enabled. In Google Chrome, you can disable JavaScript completely, or on a per-site basis. If you have a change of heart later on, it’s easy to re-enable JavaScript.
Here’s how it’s done.
Disable and Enable JavaScript in Chrome’s Settings
The easiest way to access the JavaScript options menu on Google Chrome is by entering this URL in the address bar in Chrome:
If you want to get there the old-fashioned way, you’ll need to select the three vertical dots icon in the top-right corner of the browser window.
Towards the bottom of the drop-down menu that appears, select “Settings”.
Find the “Privacy and Security” section and select “Site Settings”.
Finally, click “JavaScript” in the “Permissions” group.
By default, JavaScript is enabled. To disable JavaScript, move the slider to the left (by clicking it) next to the “Allowed” option. Enable JavaScript again by moving the slider back to the right.
Allow or Block JavaScript on Specific Sites
As previously mentioned, you can also enable or disable JavaScript for specific sites. To do this, navigate back to the JavaScript settings menu in Chrome by going to this URL:
Once there, you’ll see a “Block” and “Allow” section. Select “Add” next to Block (1) or Allow (2), depending on if you want to disable or enable JavaScript on a site, respectively.
The “Add A Site” window will now appear. Enter the site URL, then select the “Add” button.
The site will now appear in your “Block” or “Allow” list, meaning that next time you visit that site, JavaScript will be disabled or enabled, respectively.
Disable JavaScript with Chrome DevTools for Testing
If JavaScript is enabled on Chrome and you’re wanting to see what a specific site looks like without going through the settings menu, you can disable JavaScript from Chrome’s DevTools while you’re on that site. This should only be used for testing purposes, though, as JavaScript will be re-enabled on the site once you close DevTools.
While you’re on the site, open DevTools. You can do this by right-clicking anywhere on the site and selecting “Inspect”.
Alternatively, you can use the Control + Shift + 3 (Windows) or Command + Option + 3 (Mac) keyboard shortcut.
Once you’re in DevTools, open the Command menu by pressing Control + Shift + P (Windows) or Command + Shift + P (Mac).
In the search bar of the Command menu, type “JavaScript”, select “Disable JavaScript”, and then press the Enter key to run the disable JavaScript command.
JavaScript is now disabled for this site. You can hover over the yellow warning icon next to the “Sources” tab to verify JavaScript is disabled.

You can use Google Drive to host basic websites or even complex JavaScript based web apps. Free Web Hosting with Google Drive
If you are using the old Google Drive, you can easily host websites on Drive. First upload your website files to a folder inside Google Drive, set the sharing permissions of that folder as public, open the index.html file in the Google Docs viewer and then click the “Preview” link to get the URL of your website.
However if you have migrated to the new Google Drive, you’ll be disappointed to learn that Google has dropped the web hosting feature. You can still create public folders inside Drive but the option to publish that folder as a website is gone.
No worries as there’s still an easy workaround that will let you publish your websites on to Google Drive in a single step.
From Desktop to Google Drive in one step
Just put all your website file in a zip file – or you may use this zip file – and then click here to upload that zip file to your Google Drive. Once the file has uploaded, the tool will generate the public URL of your website in the same step.
If you are using the tool for the first time, you may have to click the “Authorize” button since the script needs permission to upload that zip file to your Google Drive.
Internally, this little Google Script is doing all the hard work for you. When you click upload, the app creates a folder inside your Google Drive, changes the sharing permissions to public (anyone can view, you can edit) and then generates the googledrive.com URL using the ID of the new folder.
There are a few things you need to know before hosting websites on Google Drive. One, you need to have an index.html as that file will be served when someone tries to access the homepage of your site. Second, Google Drive websites have a URL structure like and there’s no way to change the default URL.
Google Drive Websites on Custom Web Domain
If you are hosting a website on Google Drive but wish to serve it under your own custom domain, that’s not possible yet but you can follow a workaround.
I’ll show an example here. This website is hosted on Google Drive and here’s the same website but hosted on a different web domain. The trick is easy – you just have to wrap your Google Drive website URL inside an IFRAME tag as shown in the following snippet:
The height and width attributes of the IFRAME tag should be set to 100% for the Google Drive website to occupy the entire screen. The only downside is that the URL in the address bar won’t change if you open a different page of the website since you are now browsing inside an embedded page. ?
Google Drives serves your website over HTTPS and thus can also be used for hosting custom Facebook Pages since Facebook requires that custom pages are only served over secure HTTP.
PS:Google Drive cannot be used for serving dynamic pages like those generated through PHP scripts on a WordPress website.
