Ah, beauty sleep. You’ve heard of it. Maybe even gotten a night of it. But wake up gorgeous after every seven of slumber? That’s always been the stuff of dreams—until now. Seriously. *Allure’*s beauty director Amy Keller will be dishing the details of how to wake up looking good tonight on Inside Edition (log on to insideedition.com to find your local listing). Here’s a sneak peek of what you’ll want to do before going to bed this evening:
Use the strong stuff. __Nighttime is the best time to use that power anti-ager, retinol, because the ingredient can be deactivated by the sun. We love the RoC Multi Correxion Skin Renewing Serum. Try mixing it with your moisturizer if you notice any irritation.
Get softer skin. Using moisturizer before you go to sleep is the key, but that doesn’t mean you need to invest in anything expensive. Dermatologists recommend spreading a thin layer of Vaseline on your face at night as a cheaper option.
Make zits disappear. Spot treatments like Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment are potent, so it’s best to use them at night to avoid flaking or irritation during the day (not cute).
Shrink puffy eyes. If you find yourself plagued with bloodshot or puffy eyes every morning, you probably have allergies. Taking an antihistamine like Claritin Allergy Liqui-Gels before going to sleep could help in just a week or two. In the meantime, prop your head up on an extra pillow to prevent fluid from settling into bags.
Prevent perspiring the night before. Dermatologists say that if you apply antiperspirants like Secret Scent Anti Perspirent Deodorant the night before, there’s no need to apply it in the morning. That means no more white streaks on your black clothes.
Create a moist environment. Dry air can ravage skin and make hair static-y. Sleep with a humidifier in the room.
Rest your head on a satin pillowcase. Those creases you sometimes wake up with across your face? They can actually cause wrinkles to develop. Switching to satin will prevent them and can also help smooth frizzy hair, too.
While you are off to sleep, your body is still at work. It works on all kinds of healing, rejuvenating and energizing processes. We should harness that power and add to that, to make ourselves look more beautiful. Follow the overnight tips and discover how you could wake up being more beautiful.
Get rid of wrinkles
You might have already started applying anti-wrinkle creams or serums at night, but sleeping masks are much more effective than these. These are one of the best overnight skin care tips. You have to first apply your regular moisturizer and then apply the face mask. Wake up in the morning like a young princess and see your skin glow. On choosing a mask, try to get a pack with elastic-building cranberry extract along with hyaluronic acid which plumps the skin. This pack will keep your face hydrated all through the night.
Keep your feet smooth and dry
Do you have cracked and dry feet? There is a simple tip which would repair them overnight. Slather some Vaseline or a thick moisturizer on your feet and put on cotton socks before going to bed. The pair of socks would ensure on keeping the moisturizer stuck to your skin and will help it penetrate easily. It is an amazing beauty treatment which would make you look pretty overnight.
Change the pillow case
This is specifically for hair care. While twists and turns during sleep, our turn tends to cause friction and result in breakage. If you switch over to a slippery pillowcase, for example silk and satin ones, you would help your hair glide through the night has minimum damage done to it. This also prevents you from having knots in the hair when you wake up in the morning.
Moisturize your lips
You really don’t need a lot of efforts to maintain kissable lips. Apply a thin layer of almond oil and that is enough to have moisturized lips. Apply and go off to sleep, and you would have a softer look and feel when you wake up the next morning.
Soft cuticles
Make the task of soften cuticles a little easier, by simply rubbing some coconut oil before going to bed. This will keep them moisturized and even make your nails strongers.
Eyelashes
You get to buy numerous eyelash growing serums in the market today. But, they might not work and can be very expensive too. This can be resolved simply and within your pantry. All you need is some castor oil. Apply some castor oil on your eyelashes before going to sleep. You could also use a clean Q-tip for dabbing some castor oil on your top eyelash line. This will lengthen you eyelashes and make them look thicker. Apply it consecutively for 8 weeks and see visible results.
Softening hands
By now you know how you can soften your feet. This remedy is about softening your hands. Use a homemade scrub to exfoliate your hands. Add brown sugar in olive oil and blend well. Use it as a scrub and rinse. Next, massage your hands with vitamin E oil. Wear a pair of gloves and go off to sleep. When you wake up you will have softer looking hands.
Glowing skin
Waking up with a radiant glow every morning is not difficult if you can follow a simple routine. Apply Vitamin E oil before apply your night cream and then go to bed. You could also use olive oil and massage it on your skin. The oil penetrates into the skin, and then does its magic! Wake up and see your face glow.
Get rid of pimples
Pimples come with a plan to spoil your look, just before an important event! Don’t worry, as you can get away with those pimples simply by dabbing toothpaste before you go to sleep. Apply toothpaste on your face and let it dry all through the night. In the morning you will notice a breakout. Be sure that you’re using a paste and not a gel.
Keep your body hydrated
If you have dry skin, you could apply moisture every night. This will keep your body away from the dryness and hydrate it. You must also drink a lot of water as that is quite a humidifier. In the night, our skin dries out the hydration no matter how much water content we have. This is why both the humidifiers are constantly needed, to keep your skin hydrated throughout.
After all the tricks you have just learnt, on making yourself more beautiful over night, the one you just can’t miss out on, is having a peaceful sleep. Sleeping is one of the most important parts of our daily routines, and disrupting sleep is not healthy. Doing 10 minutes of meditation just before you go to bed, will help you promote better sleep and satisfaction. Try and relax your senses and keep away books or electronic gadgets, so that nothing hinders a good sleep.

Hmm! Wondering how some people wake up beautiful every day?
Most of us wonder too.
How can someone sleep or fight through the night and still wake up flawless? (Yes, some people fight in their sleep).
But you can still look beautiful even if you wake up a mess.
Have you heard the term “a beautiful mess”?
Wow, that’s one of my favorite songs. “A Beautiful Mess by Jason Mraz”. In fact, that’s me and my hubby’s song.
Okay, this post is not about music, but about how to wake up beautiful every day.
So that you too can show off singing “I woke up like this! Flawless!”

1. Do Your Skincare Routine At Night
The first on the list of how to wake up beautiful is to do your skincare routine at night.
This way your skin would relax and be rejuvenated without the harshness of the sun and dry air.
Whenever I do my facials at night, I wake up to a much relaxed smooth and soft skin.
This also applies to when you exfoliate your body at night.
It gives your skin enough time to soak in all the moisture while you sleep especially when you use a coconut oil sugar scrub.
2. Wipe Off Your Make-up Before Bed To Wake Up Beautiful Every Day
Sometimes we get very tired and jump straight into bed with a full face of makeup.
What’s the worst that could happen?
- a dirty pillowcase – Bad!
- clogged facial pores – Worse!
- breakouts – The worst! and
- if you are lucky, you get the night-after sexy eyeliner eyes. (which I love a lot).
But sometimes you will look like a huge mess with makeup smeared all over your face, and you don’t want that.
So to wake up to a beautiful fresh face, wipe off your makeup every night before going to bed.
Even if you can’t get all your eyes makeup off, you would look pretty in the morning.
After all, the plan is to look pretty with or without makeup.
3. Skip Make-up When At Home
I know sometimes I say to wear makeup at home.
Yes, that’s great but it is also good to stay makeup-free.
So the third tip on how to wake up beautiful every day is to skip makeup when you are at home.
Just to give your skin some time to rest and breathe especially if you wear makeup to work every day.
And when you feel sleepy or fall asleep, you won’t have to worry about wiping makeup off your face.
4. Wake Up Beautiful Everyday By Sleeping On Your Back
The fourth tip to wake up beautiful every day is to sleep on your back.
Regular sleeping on your back not only helps you avoid creases and wrinkles; it also reduces headaches and improves your posture.
Tell me if you would wake up looking beautiful when your head is pounding.
If you don’t know how to sleep on your back, see 5 Steps To Sleeping On Your Back Every Night.
5. A Regular Yoga Routine Can Help You Wake Up Beautiful Every Day
You may be wondering what yoga has got to do with waking up beautiful.
So here are just a few benefits of yoga to your beauty routine:
- yoga improves blood circulation,
- It also reduces stress and promotes quality sleep,
- Regular yoga helps you see yourself as you are in all your beauty and glory.
Trust me, if you get a good night’s sleep, you would definitely wake up gorgeous.
If you are not sure where to start your yoga journey, check out Yoga with Adrienne on Youtube.
She’s got lots of beginner-friendly yoga, and also several 30-day yoga journey videos.
I am currently doing her most recent yoga journey – Home and so far it’s been awesome!
When I am done with it, I may write a blog post about it.
6. Proper Hydration May Help You Wake Up Looking Flawless
Hydration is very important to your beauty routine and health in general.
When you are well hydrated, it would show on your skin.
So to wake up beautiful every day, you need to drink lots and lots of water.
If you are like me, and you forget to drink water, you can download a water drinking reminder app.
It reminds you every hour to rehydrate.
You can choose the amount of water you want to drink every hour to meet your hydration goals.
I usually drink up to 99oz or more of fluids (water, tea or coffee) per day.
You can drink more or less.
Just do what works for you.
7. Use A Peel Off Facemask
The last tip on how to wake up beautiful every day is to use a peel-off face mask (at night).
Apart from my peel-off charcoal mask, the only other masks I have used are DIY oatmeal masks.
But a peel-off mask removes both black and whiteheads from your facial pores.
And opens them up to absorb moisture to stay supple and show your natural glow every day.
But if you prefer the mud masks, that’s totally okay.
Wake Up Beautiful & Flawless Every Day!
And that’s how to wake up beautiful and flawless every day.
*still singing* I woke up like this! Flawless!
I hope this helps you wake up to a beautiful you every day.

When you wake up in the morning, you would usually observe broken hair on your pillow and oil on your face. Over a period of time you might also see dark circles, wrinkles and fine lines appearing. You end up opening your beauty wardrobe each morning, to resolve these issues. Read: How Sex can Make You Look More Beautiful
But, instead of using cosmetics, you should try making some simple changes in your lifestyle. Take a look at a few tricks that will ensure a ‘beautiful you’ every morning.
#1. Get ready beforehand!
The best way to wake up looking beautiful is to sleep prepared for it. No, we are not asking you to sleep as decked up as women from Indian soap operas. Follow a simple skin care regime during the night time. Remove all your makeup, wash your face, and slather on some moisturiser before you go to bed. This is one of the simplest ways to wake up to a soft and supple face every morning.
What’s more? Use the night time for your beauty repairs. Yes, night is the best time for you to apply your beauty treatments, be it for your eyes, face or hair. So, invest in some good overnight creams and serums for the sake of your skin.
#2. Sleep on silk or satin
This one may seem a little strange to you, but sleeping on silk or satin is the best way to avoid getting those irritating sleep wrinkles and fine lines on your face that you can get by sleeping on cotton. Since silk is so smooth, your hair and face will experience less friction as you sleep. This means, your hair will not get tangled easily and your face will be protected from early onslaught of fine lines. So, if not silk or satin bed sheets, then buy silk pillow covers to rest your head on.
#3. Get plenty of sleep
Well, this one is no brainer (or so we hope!). If you take sufficient sleep, then you will not have to worry about your dark circles or under eye bags. Cutting down on the amount of sleep can speed up your ageing process as well. Sleeplessness prevents proper blood circulation in the body, especially on the face, thus making it look more pale. It is this blood flow which results in a brighter and youthful skin.
Moreover, sleepless nights can also lead to weight gain. A 2011 research, published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, found that sleep-deprived people consumed about 300 more calories per day than the well-rested ones. It is so because lack of sleep slows down your metabolism. And, it is this slowdown that triggers the release of stress hormone called cortisol. These stress hormones further boosts your appetite, making you eat more. So, be sure to get at least 8 hours of sleep every day, or else you might just put on weight and get wrinkles really quick!
#4. Sleep on your back
This is one of the most well-kept secrets of waking up looking beautiful- sleep on your back. Do you know that when you sleep on your stomach, your face gets squashed under the weight of your head, and this leads to wrinkles? Yes, this is true. Even many studies and researches have come to light that have shown that sleeping on your stomach increases the risks of wrinkles. So, for the sake of your beautiful face, one tip that you need to follow- sleep on your back.

The morning is totally not my thing, however, I do have to work every morning, so by 5:00am, I am up and in the shower. After 5 years of waking up early, I think I’ve mastered how to be beautiful first thing in the morning!

One of the first tips on how to be beautiful is avoid coffee and chocolate just before bed. The reasoning is because of the caffeine and the sugar. Once you start avoiding these, you’ll see a huge difference in how you sleep!

3. Keep a Window Open
The deeper that you sleep, the better sleep that you’re going to be getting. Find it stifling in your apartment come morning? Why not sleep with the window cracked a little? It’ll make a huge difference, ladies, and you’ll wake up feeling refreshed!
4. Don’t Sleep on Your Face
Sounds weird right? Well, think about it, if you do sleep on your face, you won’t end up with a lot of movements throughout the night. If you sleep in just one position, you’re going to wake up with those awful sleep marks embedded in your face — wrinkles caused by your pillowcase that won’t go away for the longest time.
5. Prop Your Head up
If you want to know how to be beautiful in the morning, this is the tip to pay attention to! Make sure that you prop your head up a bit. That way, no matter what happens, your head will be propped and in the morning, you’ll see how it affected you!
6. Avoid Red Wine before Bed
One of the #1 things on all of the lists that I read, was to avoid red wine before bed. My theory is that it is a little heavy and since you’ve already eaten, the combination of the food and the wine can be really heavy. So if you’re looking for one of the few how to be beautiful tips out there, this is one of them!
7. Deep Condition Your Hair

8. Sleep on Silk
I have actually slept on silk before. While it isn’t for me, my mom loves it. If you’re looking for a surefire way not to smudge your make up, silk or satin sheets are the way to go!
9. Wash Your Sheets
I love, love, love fresh and clean sheets. Honestly, they are my favorite things in the world to sleep in. Washing your sheets just once a week will make you sleep better, which in turn will eliminate everything from dark circles to fatigue that you might feel.
Learning the ins and outs of how to be beautiful in the morning isn’t hard, you just have to know what tips to follow. These are my tips and tricks on how to be beautiful in the morning. What about you ladies — how do you get through the mornings? Come on, share! Let us know your advice on how to be beautiful when you wake up!
If you don’t feel picture perfect when you first wake up in the morning, you’re not alone. Most people don’t wake up with glowing skin and perfect hair, at least not without some effort the night before! With a few skincare tips and plenty of sleep, you’ll be showing off your natural beauty before you know it!
1. CLEAN YOUR FACE before BED EVERY NIGHT
If you wear makeup, you should already know you need to use a gentle cleanser every night because oils and impurities from the air can end up on your face throughout the day. These can block your pores, which leads to breakouts and premature aging. Wet your face, then apply your cleanser and rinse thoroughly with clean water. If you are too tired to wash your face, you can use a face wipe to cleanse your skin.
2. APPLY a THICK LAYER of MOISTURIZING CREAM
Nighttime is the perfect time to rehydrate your skin with a moisturizing cream. Smooth on a thick layer, but don’t rub it in all the way. Instead, let it soak in naturally to get the most benefits.
3. APPLY UNDEREYE CREAM after MOISTURIZING
If you put on an undereye cream and then apply moisturizer, you’ll likely transfer the eye cream to other parts of your face where the cream will be less effective. Applying it after your moisturizer will help ensure it stays where you need it most: hydrating the delicate skin around your eyes.
4. APPLY a MOSITURIZING LIP BALM before YOU GO to SLEEP
Your lips need to be moisturized just like the rest of your face. Nighttime is the best time to wear lip balm because you won’t be talking, eating, or smooching your crush for a few hours, so slather on your favorite lip moisturizer and wake up with a perfect pout!
5. MOISTURIZE YOUR FEET EVERY NIGHT and PUT on SOCKS after
You’ll wake up with head-to-toe beauty if you take the time to moisturize your feet at night. Cover your feet in thick lotion, avoiding in between your toes. Then, slip on a pair of thick fluffy socks to keep the lotion from getting onto your bed sheets.
6. SLEEP on YOUR BACK to PREVENT WRINKleS
If you sleep on your stomach or your side, your pillow will create friction against your face, and gravity pulls your skin downwards. Over time, this can lead to wrinkles on your face. In addition to the benefits for your face, sleeping on your back holds your neck and spine in a more natural alignment. Fluid can pool under your eyes, creating dark circles. Use an extra pillow when you sleep to help prevent these bags from forming.
7. USE a HUMIDIFIER when YOU SLEEP
Hydration is important to the health of your skin, even when you’re sleeping. Place a humidifier in your room and turn it on when you go to bed, especially in the winter when the air tends to be dry.
8. DRINK about 100FLUIDS OUNCES (3.0L) WATER a DAY
Drinking water helps remove impurities from your body and it’s essential for healthy-looking skin. If you need help drinking more water, carry a large water bottle around with you to remind you to drink up.
9. SLEEP on SATIN or SILK PILLOWCASE to PROTECT YOUR HAIR WHILE YOU SLEP
Regular cotton pillowcases can grip the fibers of your hair. Over time, this can cause your hair strands to weaken and even break. Opt for a smooth material like silk or satin instead, so your hair will slip smoothly across the surface of your pillow as you sleep.
10. CREATE a PEACEFUL ENVIRONMENT in YOUR BEDROOM
Your bedroom should be cool, dark, and quiet to help you get the best sleep possible. Adjust the temperature to one that’s comfortable for you, and consider using a fan or other white noise to help block out sounds from the outside world. If you can, invest in a nice set of sheets so you feel comfortable when you get into the bed. The most luxurious sheets have a thread count of 300-400, but you’ll still get a silky feel as long as your sheets are in the 250-300 thread count range. Keep your bedroom tidy so you feel relaxed when you go in there. Pick up any laundry and straighten your nightstand or the top of your dresser before you go to bed.

HAVE A GREAT TIME DOING THE
#Iwokeuplikethis challenge
Morning is considered to be a time when we should bring us in order. We are used to say it and to do it. But let’s try to understand why we are not ok in the morning?
How to always wake up beautiful?
1.Less water before you go to sleep.
In general I recommend you to consume less water in the second half of the day. Yes, you should drink water. But during the day. All liquid which we consume in the evening turns in the swollen face in the morning.
2.Less sweet and salty food.
Again swollen face. Yes, these products seriously damage our water salt balance and the water spreads uneven in the body. We all have our problematic zones, but usually we have swollen face around the eyes and nose.
3.Regime.
I won’t get tired of repeating that if you follow a certain daily schedule, your body starts working as a clock. No stress, no mistakes.
As a result we feel good and look good in the morning. But we can’t say the same about people who live without regime and prefer to party one night and sleep 10 hours another night. They need lots of time to fix themselves.
4.Creams and masks in the fridge.
It seems to me that lots of ladies do so. But I will still remind of such way to make a refresh in the morning! Your patches and other beauty products will be way more effective when they are cold. And don’t forget about the feeling of freshness and cold when you use them.
5.Ventilation.
You have probably noticed that sleeping in a stuffy room makes you look tired and swollen. Even skin looks dirty. It’s not an illusion. It’s true. Sebaceous glands work actively at night. All these things also spread all over the pillow. But you will sleep better in the cool room. You will give some air to your skin and instead of steaming effect you will get oxygen exchange. Imagine what happens to the skin of heaters’ fans.
6.Evening cleansing.
You can have a bad morning look if you forgot about evening skincare. Yes, I am talking about panda eyes which we have in the morning because of our laziness. It’s time to get a strict rule – “Wash away your make-up 💯” and then go to sleep.
7.No gadgets before sleep.
This point is the most difficult one. I am not saying that you need to get rid of the phone and dinner after 6. Just let yourself spend 30 minutes without phone and computer. Let it be 30 minutes of self-care before sleep. Massage your feet, face, whatever you want. But the worst choice is to fall sleep with the phone in your hands.
To sum it up, I would like to say that all these factors influence your good rest and it becomes the reason of good look and feeling. There is nothing extraordinary in these rules. But if you don’t follow these rules, your body won’t rest well.
I have never met anyone who has enough time to get ready in the morning. Ever. No matter how much you plan to get up early and be on time, something always goes wrong. Your alarm clock doesn’t go off, your shower is broken, you have extreme bed head, you have a giant pimple, and so on and so forth. Mornings can be bad enough without having to wake up to some beauty disaster. So here are 10 things that you can do the night before to make mornings a little faster, easier, and more beautiful!
1. Sleep with a hair mask in and a shower cap on. In the morning simply wash it for silky, conditioned hair!
2. If hair is wet from a nighttime shower, braid hair in two braids. In the morning, unbraid and shake out hair for nice waves.
3. To preserve straightened hair or a blowout, pull hair into a high ponytail and secure with a big scrunchy to prevent any tangles or elastic lines.
4. Sleep with a face mask on and wash off in the morning. Also apply a pimple spot cream on a pimple before bed.
5. Apply a think nighttime moisturizer to wake up with hydrated skin.
6. Self tan that night and let it dry and sink in.
7. For those of you who, like me, never have chap stick on them during the day, apply chap stick before bed to have smooth lips all day.
8. Always wash your face or at least remove your makeup before bed. This will make sure you don’t wake up with pimples, clogged pores, or raccoon eyes.
9. Sleep on a satin pillowcase or wrap your hair in a silk scarf to reduce A.M. frizz.
10. And of course, get enough sleep! It is the most effective way to look refreshed and gorgeous in the morning!
Forget about the morning sorrows, days of sad hair and sullen faces. With our 5 tips, you will wake up beautiful at sunrise!
1 * Sleep your own number of hours and go to bed before midnight
If you want to look beautiful in the morning, you have to start by getting to bed not too late. A sleep before midnight is felt immediately on a face. So at eleven o’clock, say goodbye to everyone and jump in bed before midnight!
It is therefore important to sleep for a sufficient number of hours for yourself. When you wake up with a groomy face, you keep it all day, so think about it! The morning is the time when we are supposed to be at our best (and our best face), so it’s better to sleep sufficiently.
2 * Remove makeup, whatever happens!
There are some tips and tricks for change a groomy face complexion to peach skin… Amongst all the good reflexes, it’s better to have this one. Even if you are lazy, even if you fall tired: do not forget to remove makeup! Every night, skin, eyes, even when you’re not wearing makeup. So apply on your face milk, lotion or micellar water eventually.
3 * A cream or lotion for the night
Before going to sleep in the arms of Morpheus, apply on your face (for all the types of skins) a nourishing care, a vegetable butter or a vegetable oil to nourish the skin in depth.
Sleep is the moment when the skin is reformed. It works all day but even more at night. This is a good way to get up with plump and elastic skin.
If you fear the effect too nourishing, apply a cream adapted to its type of skin for the night. Rather fluid when you have oily skin, or more creamy if you have dry skin. If rinsing with water, apply a tonic or floral lotion to remove limescale. And do not forget: you are working today for the skin that you will have in ten years.
4 * Taking care of your hair for the night can be helpful
To have well-placed hair on waking, as the hair fiber dries on contact with the pillows, the best is to tie them. Some protective hairstyles will prevent friction, such as the braid or the twisted bun. If you prefer not to tie it, sleep on pillows of silk or satin (less expensive than silk). The hair is less damaged on slippery tissues.
You can also use Sleep Styler. Take a shower or a bath and wash your hair. Once the hair is well wrung out, divide it into locks and then wrap it around the microfiber hair curlers. Pay attention that your hair does not overlap, otherwise it will not dry. Wrap the strap over to hold the hair and scratch it on the bottom of the curler. The more curlers you use, the faster your hair will dry. You can go to sleep while keeping your curlers, since they are very comfortable and will not interfere absolutely.
When you wake up, carefully remove the hair curlers. Here you are, ready in minutes! You do not have to sleep with the Sleep Styler because your hair will dry in about 2 hours when you wear the curlers. So you can go about your business and remove it once your hair is dry before going to bed.
5 * Detox or vitamin cocktails for a very fresh wake up
For a brighter skin, nothing like a big glass of lemon water when you jump from bed. So mix a lemon bottom and a little water temperature. It’s fresh and it looks good. To change, and to fill up with vitamins, you can also opt for a fresh fruit juice or a smoothie. Why not do detox treatments from time to time?
Dietary supplements for the beauty of the skin and hair are not lacking. However, it is better to opt for a product that you can find in a serious shop.
Work and play hard? Stop it showing on your skin
Tired of looking tired EVERY morning? Full-coverage concealer may mask under-eye shadows, but you can’t cheat eight hours of shut-eye by caking on the makeup alone — not to mention your skin can actually age before its time from lack of sleep. It’s the stuff of nightmares. 😱
So, wanna look fresh-faced even if you’ve been working hard all day and playing hard all night? Put a knackered complexion and excess baggage to bed with these sleep-friendly tips for instant happy face:
1. Give your skin a power nap
Few of us have time to properly pamper ourselves, so speed up recovery on a Sunday morning after a big weekend with a high-tech facemask that acts like a power nap for your skin. Estée Lauder’s new Advanced Night Repair Concentrated Recovery PowerFoil Mask (£16) pumps your skin with nature’s own moisture magnet, hyaluronic acid. The “dual-matrix” foil-backing drives the youth-boosting concentrate inside it into the skin, granting instantly visible glowing results that are just asking to be immortalised in a selfie.

2. Think while you drink
Poor sleep leaves your skin vulnerable to dryness and dehydration, so make sure you’re not hitting the sack parched. When you’re out-out, make soda water with fresh lime or coconut water your mixers of choice — it will counteract some of the dehydrating effects of booze. Avoid sugary, caffeinated drinks such as cola, fruit juices and energy drinks, which can unsettle sleep and leave your skin thirsty.
3. Hydrate as you hibernate
Downing pints of water before bed may add to disturbed sleep (all those nighttime toilet trips), but eating your water won’t. Structured water in veggies and nuts release hydration slowly – so swap the salty processed snacks for these. Your skin will thank you for it. Promise.
4. Keep makeup remover by the bed
No matter how tired/tipsy you are, going to bed with your makeup on will only make matters worse the morning after (clogged pores, irritated eyes, leaving makeup residue on your pillow. we could go on). Make it less of a chore by keeping some good-quality face wipes by the bed for a fast, effective cleanse. It’s not ideal to rely on convenience cloths every night in place of a deeper clean, but on late nights they’re skin saviours. 🙏
5. Skincare you should sleep with
Your skin goes to work repairing the day’s damage at night – and using the right product can help support the healing process to achieve vital, vibrant-looking skin. Advanced Night Repair — Estée Lauder’s most advanced serum EVER — maximises renewal, repairing daily damage and delivering continuous hydration in one quick hit. Don’t pass out without it.
6. Prevent pillow face
Ironically, sleep can also contribute to wrinkle formation *sadface*. And we’re not talking temporary pillow marks, but ‘sleep wrinkles’, as they’re known, which are believed to be a result of the skin being pushed and pulled against the pillow, damaging skin-smoothing collagen over time. Future-proof your face by sleeping on your back – lying face down or sideways on your pillow can help cause lines to form.
7. Slip on a silk eye mask
While the main purpose of an eye mask is to block out the light and encourage sleepy time, they can also help your skin stay crease-free by helping to prevent the pillow from being pushed into your face. Skin-loving silk versions can also soothe skin, help to lock in moisture and prevent visible dehydration. Did someone say ‘beauty sleep’?
8. Ditch the distractions
We ALL check our mobiles after lights-off, but try and avoid screens in bed as the luminosity can strain your eyes, escalate ‘phone face’ and stimulate the hormones that keep you awake. #Fail. Remember, the requests, notifications and likes will still be there in the morning. If your thoughts are racing with tomorrow’s to-do list, release them from your mind by putting them on paper. Jotting them in a notebook to deal with in the morning may be old school, but it works.
9. Create the dream environment
Get all zen and blissed out for bedtime with sleepy meditation music (note to self: if you’re playing it via your phone, make sure it’s locked!), a spritz of pillow spray designed to remedy sleeplessness (lavender’s a classic) and some deep belly breathing. This quick combo will help sedate you in no time and even if you manage five hours instead of eight — proper sound sleep will bring on bright eyes and bouncy skin come morning. Winning.
HOW TO WAKE UP WITH BEAUTIFUL HAIR
If there is one thing that women wants in their lives, other than to spend a night with a handsome Hollywood star, is to wake up beautiful and made-up. They want to literally #wokeuplikethis #flawless. Others think that is wishful thinking but some people are very optimistic and would try everything they read off of magazines just to look beautiful when they first open their eyes in the morning.
Well, there may not be one fool-proof way of waking up with beautiful skin and hair, but these following tips can help you wake up with beautiful hair. Take these down and be prepared to wake up with commercial-worthy hair.
DEEP CONDITION OVERNIGHT
We all know the importance of regular shampooing and conditioning. But, one thing that most people ignore or forget is the importance of deep conditioning. This process needs to be done at least once a week to ensure soft, healthy hair. So, to do it overnight and at the comforts of your own home, rinse your hair with warm water with a focus on the scalp to open up the hair cuticles. Then, apply the moisturizer or elixir, like DKoye’s The Elixir, to improve your hair’s moisture balance and make your hair humidity resistant. After applying the product, use a comb to evenly spread the product in your hair. After making sure that every strand is evenly coated, wrap your hair with saran wrap and let it sit overnight. In the morning, rinse it with cold water to seal the moisture inside.
AVOID WILD LOOKING BANGS
Bangs are probably the most difficult to tame in the morning. So, to make sure they follow your every command, fix your bangs as soon as you get out of the bathroom. Waiting for then to dry before fixing them is considered a hopeless case. Then, apply a lightweight wax like DKoye’s The Wax using a bristle brush to quickly tame your bangs. This wax will give your hair a strong hold while allowing your hair to move freely. Say goodbye to wild bangs.
FOR BOUNCY HAIR
We all love getting blowouts because they make our hair full and smooth. That’s why it;s hard to shower after that and risk losing soft, full hair. Well, if you don’t want to lose the volume of your hair, use two large bobby pins and put your hair up in a loose high bun. Or, if you want to wake up to large waves, put your hair almost dry hair into two large donut buns on either side of your head.
Waking up to beautiful hair may seem impossible, but with these tips and tricks, they may seem doable after all. Just stay positive and confident and, with the help of the right products, you’ll wake up to beautiful hair every day
Everybody wants to look beautiful. As soon as you get up your worry starts to look your best for the rest of the day. You hustle, scramble and try doing many things while you hope that the makeup you apply does its job.
On the other hand, it turns out your body can do serious work for you while you sleep. You just have to give it a little help along the way. EHC lists out certain tasks or treatments to wake up looking refreshed and beautiful.
Remove all your makeup
The most important thing to do to wake up looking fresh is to remove all of your makeup before bedtime. That means you need to remove leftover mascara, lip color, and everything. This ensures that your pores will be clean and your eyes are free of leftover makeup.
Use two pillows
Prop your head up on an extra pillow to prevent puffiness. You can also prop up the head of your bed on 2- to 4-inch pieces of wood. This is a time when gravity helps you with lymph and blood flow so fluids won’t accumulate under your eyes and in your face.
Use hand cream
Moisturizing your hands with a thick, plain, somewhat greasy hand cream will keep your hands and fingernails looking their best first thing in the morning. Hands get dried out throughout the day with exposure to dry air and excessive washing. Night is a chance to try to undo some of the damage, which will also keep cuticles and fingernails moisturized so they will grow longer and stronger and break and peel less.
Pin your hair back
Your hair contains oils and dirt that can get on your face and pillowcase and cause breakouts. Braid your hair or pin it up into a bun to keep it off your face as you sleep.
Foot care
A few nights each week, rub your toes and heels with a lotion containing 12% lactic acid, which helps slough off dry skin. Top this lotion with a heavier cream, such as one made with shea butter or glycerin. Then slip on a pair of socks over the creams and call it a night.
Brush your teeth every night
If you skip the dental care at night, you are prone to get dental caries and other dental diseases. Brushing removes stains between and around your teeth, and you have to floss too. Poor gum care can cause your gums to recede, making your teeth look longer and you older.
Be happy
To look good you need to feel good. Just take time to enjoy life. What’s going on inside is surely going to reflect on the outside. So spend a few minutes reading a funny book or watching a humorous YouTube clip, go for a walk, call a friend, or enjoy a piece of exquisite dark chocolate.
Eight hours of sleep
Catching a good night’s sleep can really affect the way you look. Sleep can reduce dark circles because a lack of sleep compromises your body’s circulatory system and you get stagnant blood in the vessels under the eyes because it is not properly drained. Lack of sleep also causes your skin to look pale and tired.
Eye cream
Start using great moisturizers and eye cream at night. When the morning rolls around, your skin will be plump and hydrated.
Boost collagen with vitamin A
As you get older, your skin makes less collagen, which helps keep your skin firm. To stimulate collagen production, which will help smooth fine lines and reduce the appearance of pores, EHC recommends applying vitamin A in the form of either a prescription or over-the-counter retinoid every night.
Not to check your phone
Yes, we all do it, the last scroll before we hit the hay. In order to get to sleep and stay asleep soundly, we need to put the phone and other devices away and off. Studies have shown that looking at a bright screen so close to your face less than two hours before you go to sleep puts your brain into a state of not being able to shut off, so going to sleep will be much harder if you start scrolling through Facebook and Instagram.
No sugar right before bed
Besides the fact that you will spike your blood sugar, you will also be putting an acid into your body that will sit in your body all night long. Combine this with not brushing your teeth and you have a real bad situation on your hands.
Adam Doleac Lyrics
“Wake Up Beautiful”
When all the taxis turn off their signs
When this drunk town sobers up from the neon light
When the high heels are long kicked off your dancing feet
When that dress is off and you’re tangled up in sheets
I bet you wake up pretty all sleepy eyed
Looking even better than you do tonight
When your face touches that morning light
I bet you wake up, bet you wake up
Looking like a feeling that I had just now
Watching you spinning this room around
When the sun comes up and the moon falls down
I bet you wake up beautiful
I bet you wake up beautiful
Damn that lucky mirror in the morning
And that coffee cup you press against your lips
I’m jealous of the pillow underneath your head
Well don’t get me wrong baby you look good like this
But I bet you wake up pretty all sleepy eyed
Looking even better than you do tonight
When your face touches that morning light
I bet you wake up, bet you wake up
Looking like a feeling that I had just now
Watching you spinning this room around
When the sun comes up and the moon falls down
I bet you wake up beautiful
I bet you wake up beautiful
When all the taxis turn off their signs
When you open up your eyes thinking ’bout tonight
Oh, I bet you wake up pretty all sleepy eyed
Looking even better than you do tonight
When your face touches that morning light
I bet you wake up, bet you wake up
Looking like a feeling that I had just now
Watching you spinning this room around
When the sun comes up and the moon falls down, yeah
I bet you wake up beautiful
I bet you wake up beautiful
I bet you wake up beautiful
I bet you wake up beautiful
I bet you wake up beautiful

The life of a busy girl really is a hard one. Often, because of hectic lifestyle many ladies don’t have enough time to take care of themselves. We’ve all heard about the term ‘beauty sleep‘, but when you wake up with your hair all over the place it really doesn’t seem possible to achieve.
Don’t worry ladies, you don’t have to cut off your beauty routine. Why not use your 8 hours of sleep well and let yourself wake up feeling fresh and pretty in the morning. Here are some things that can help you get your rest and sneak in some beauty treatments at the same time. They are so easy you can do them with your eyes closed!
Smooth Rough Feet
Don’t have enough time or money to get a pedicure? No worries, you can easily soften up your feet at home overnight. All you have to do is use Vaseline or warm olive oil to massage your feet, then put on an old pair of cotton socks. The socks hold the moisturizer against your skin, thereby helping it penetrate. A perfect remedy for dry, cracked and calloused feet.
Lengthen Lashes
While there are plenty of expensive eyelash growth serums on the market, many experts recommend an easy overnight treatment. Apply castor oil from root to tip of your lashes before you go to sleep. This natural oil is rich in super-hydrating omega-6 fatty acids, which help moisturize your lashes and prevent breakage, and can also be used for eyebrows. Try this and you will notice results in just a few weeks.
Whiten Teeth
Want a whiter smile? Try baking soda before bed. Start with brushing your teeth regularly, then just dip your toothbrush in baking soda and brush your teeth one more time. Leave the mixture on for 5-6 minutes and make sure to rinse thoroughly afterwards. It’s a great overnight treatment because you’d normally have to wait an hour before eating or drinking anything. Just be sure to only do it once a week or you could damage your teeth.
Moisturized Lips
Waking up to kissable lips isn’t complicated at all. Simply use a lip scrub before heading to bed and then apply your favorite lip balm or a nourishing oil (olive oil, coconut oil or almond oil). It will hydrate your lips overnight and make them feel nice and smooth in the morning. Doing this often will help you to forget about chapped lips forever!
De-puff
Do you constantly wake up with dark circles under your eyes despite getting enough sleep? Then you should definitely try this simple switch: add an extra pillow and sleep on your back. It will allow the fluids around your eyes to drain easier and will minimize the puffiness. If this doesn’t work, apply sweet almond oil right under your eyes before sleeping. The oil is very nourishing and can take great care for the delicate area under your eyes, so you will wake up looking fresh and rejuvenated!
Repair Split Ends
If your hair feels a little crunchy from too much heat styling, you don’t have to wait for your next haircut to get rid of split ends. Before going to bed just apply some leave in conditioner or hair oil to your hair and let it soak in all night, then wash your hair in the morning. After that your hair will feel much more hydrated and healthy. A little extra tip: you will want to put on a towel so it won’t transfer to your pillowcase.
Cuticle Care
Not only can you get a little pedicure treatment while you sleep, but you can also get a little manicure treatment as well. If your nail beds are dry, soften them by using a small amount of coconut oil to moisturize the cuticles and strengthen the nails. For a better result you can also wear cotton gloves. When you wake up, your nail beds will be happy and hydrated.
Moisturize
Every now and then your skin needs deep cleansing and moisturizing treatment. Cleanse and exfoliate to deep clean the skin from dirt and makeup, then follow up with a good moisturizing process to rejuvenate your skin overnight. Use a small drop of vitamin E oil under your night cream. And if you prefer all natural products use olive oil and massage it into your skin before going to bed. Your skin will be grateful.
Prevent Wrinkles
Researchers have found that when slept on, cotton pillow cases cause creases on your skin and create wrinkles. Satin ones, on the other hand, don’t. Pamper yourself by investing in a silk or satin pillow case because it will not only lessen the pressure on your skin, but will also help reduce the amount of hair breakage. Finally a good reason to buy those fancy sheets you’ve been wanting.
Create Waves
Wake up with a gorgeous hairstyle! There are so many ways you can do your hair before bed so that while you sleep it creates an effortless style in the morning. Just wash your hair, then braid it, wrap it around a headband or twist it into buns – the choice is yours. Play around with what works for you and what looks best. Don’t be afraid to experiment! Bed head has never looked so good.
Is taking really good care of your skin a priority for you? Do you want to wake up looking well-rested every morning? If you have provided an affirmative answer to either one of these two questions, then you are in luck. In the paragraphs that follow, we have gathered no less than nine of the best anti aging tips. These are guaranteed to help you wake up beautiful, with the skin rejuvenated and refreshed. Make sure to give all of them a try and see which one works the best.
#1 Use pillowcases made from silk or satin
While this might sound like something pretentious, it is one of the best measures you can take to protect your skin. You might not be aware of this for a fact, but fabrics such as cotton and polyester can damage the skin, due to the excess tugging. On the other hand, the pillow cases made from silk or satin are gentle, and they present a reduced risk of skin damage. As the skin slides on the fabric, you won’t have to worry about waking up with creases.
#2 Sleep on your back
Your sleep preference matters more than you might think, especially if you are accustomed to sleeping on your back. When it comes to the best anti aging tips that anyone can offer, remember this: you should avoid sleeping on your side, as the skin is constantly subjected to stress (as it is pressed on the pillow). In time, this favors the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Instead, you might want to begin sleeping on your back, as this is an excellent position for wrinkle prevention.
#3 Nighttime routine
No matter how tired you might be, you need to go through your skin care routine. The first thing that you need to do is remove your makeup, using a gentle cleanser (and one that suits your skin type and its subsequent needs). Never go to bed with your makeup on, as you will only favor the premature aging of the skin. Second, you need to apply a toner, as this will strengthen the skin and protect against further damage. Last, but not least, you should use a moisturizer with a rich texture.
#4 Use retinoids before going to bed
Retinoids are excellent anti-aging products, being able to work wonders on existent signs of aging and prevent the formation of new ones at the same time. Derivatives of vitamin A, they can also accelerate the cell renewal process, thus ensuring the youthful appearance of the skin. It is also a known fact that retinoids can stimulate the production of collagen, helping your skin look better overall.
#5 Try an overnight facial mask to keep the skin hydrated
During the night, the skin loses a lot of moisture, so the risk of dehydration is considerably higher than during the day. For this reason, it is recommended to drink plenty of water and hydrate the skin from within. You can also try an overnight facial mask, as this will keep the skin hydrated and it will help you look beautiful in the morning. The best ingredients for a hydrating facial mask are yogurt and honey, so make sure to give them a try. If the skin is properly hydrated, common signs of aging, such as fine lines and wrinkles, are going to be less noticeable.
#6 Defeat signs of tiredness with an anti-aging serum
If you want to wake up looking refreshed, you should consider using an anti-aging serum before going to bed. This can help you defeat common signs of tiredness, such as dark circles, under-eye bags and general puffiness. One of the best anti-aging serums is the one that contains vitamin C as an active ingredient; this is an antioxidant, and it can also protect against the damage done by free radicals.
#7 End the day with a facial massage
A facial massage can help you relax and let go of all the stress accumulated throughout the day. At the same day, it can eliminate the tension affecting your facial muscles and reduce the risk of premature aging. You can perform the facial massage yourself, using gentle motions; or, if you want, you can ask your partner for this treat. The massage will also get your blood flowing, bringing oxygen and nutrients to the skin.
#8 Bring a humidifier into the bedroom
Often times, one of the main reasons for which you wake up looking tired has to do with the quality of the air in your room. If the air is too dry, your skin is bound to suffer, and the results will be quite noticeable in the morning. An easy answer to this problem is to bring a humidifier into the bedroom. This will keep the air in your bedroom moist, and you will wake up looking all beautiful, as your skin will remain perfectly hydrated throughout the night.
#9 Keep a good wrinkle cream on your nightstand
When you are tired, one of the last things that you want to do is go to the bathroom and apply your skin care products. Well, if you want to maintain the beautiful appearance of the skin, you need to apply these products every day. A good way to ensure this will happen is to keep your wrinkle cream on the nightstand. You can then apply it right before going to bed.
These are some of the best anti aging tips that you can consider, to wake up looking beautiful, every morning. Make sure to include all of them in your daily routine and soon you will notice the desired results.
Avoid salt, drink lots of water throughout the day, get eight hours of sleep in a really dark room — these are standard, can’t-beat-them practices that help you look good in the morning. Some days, though, you need a beauty boost. Today, on behalf of The Kit, I popped by The Marilyn Denis Show to discuss how to wake up beautiful. And if you do some or all the things on the following top-to-toe list on, say, Sunday night, then your Monday could be the most gorgeous day of the week.
1) Apply an overnight leave-in hair-conditioning treatment
An overnight conditioning hair treatment will give you soft, more manageable, shiny hair come morning. Work it into dry hair and comb through thoroughly. In the AM, shampoo, condition, rinse, and style as usual. If you have really dry hair, you can do this twice a week. Otherwise, once a week or every other week could be enough for you.
LaCoupe Overnight Repair Miracle Masque, $7.99
Nexxus Split End Binding Overnight Treatment Creme, $14.99
2) Cleanse skin thoroughly
Try a cleansing brush, which gets a good exfoliation in as well. Best to use a cleansing brush just once per day; at night it preps skin to absorb your skincare as you sleep. Be gentle — go over your skin in gentle, circular moments, allowing the brush to do the work (don’t add pressure as you hold it against your skin).
Olay Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System, $34.99 (it’s in the current issue of The Kit!)
3) Apply a moisturizing face masque on clean skin
Skin should just drink this in after your cleansing-brush session. Apply a layer of hydrating gel or cream over the skin, wait 15 or 20 minutes, then rinse off. If you have really dry skin, you can do this twice per week.
Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Masque, $47.50
DIY moisturizing face masque (posted by Vivian in a comment in January):
1 tbsp plain dried oatmeal, ground up in the food processor
1 heaping tbsp plain greek or balkan style yogurt
1 tsp honey
Mix and slather all over the face, let it sit for 15 to 20 mins, wipe off then rinse skin.
4) Apply hydrating or anti-aging serum on damp skin
Again, while you sleep is the best time for potent serum ingredients to go to work. Lightly rub a few drops in your hands and smooth onto your face.
Neostrata Intense All-In-One Night Serum, $84
5) Apply night cream
Night cream is typically more hydrating than day creams; extra moisture at night means glowier skin in the morning. Keep the jar on the night table so you can massage it in before you drift off to sleep.
Marcelle Revival Intense Anti-Aging Night Care, $34.95
Weleda Pomegranate Firming Night Cream, $29
Bare Minerals Pure Transformation Night Treatment, $63 (mineral makeup you wear overnight as a skin treatment)
6) Buff and moisturize lips
I’ve mentioned this tip before as an effective yet more gentle alternative to brushing poor lips with an ouchy toothbrush. Soak the corner of a washcloth in hot water, squeeze it out, and gently rub over lips until they’re smooth. Apply a gelée-consistancy lip balm immediately. (Gel-type balms tend to be more moisturizing than waxy sticks.)
Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1, $10.99
7) Slather body in body oil
Okay, so I’m obsessed with oil as a body moisturizer. It leaves skin so silky — and really dry skin likes it mixed in with your body lotion, or applied as a layer before lotion. Great after a shower, on damp skin.
Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Skin Therapy Oil, $9.99
Yves Rocher Culture Bio Night Time Body Oil, $22 (it’s in a handy spray format)
8) Use foot cream with AHAs to soften while you sleep
This one’s especially important because flip-flop season is (hopefully) just around the corner. Massage cream into feet, then put on a pair of socks, if you like — my favourites are Airplus Aloe Infused Ultra Moisturizing Socks, $6.99. Regular use of a foot cream with AHA will keep sand-paper heels away.
Vichy Podexine Callus Corrector, $18.95 (contains salicylic acid to help keep skin smooth)
Now you don’t have to do all of these steps in one evening, not unless you have a special day ahead. Do you already do any of these night-time beauty steps? Are there any you’re tempted to add to your before-sleep routine?

Sick of venturing downstairs every morning with your pyjamas in a tangle, dark under-eye circles and messy hair? Here are 10 simple ways to wake up looking gorgeous.
If you’re fond of sleeping on your front, the first step to looking beautiful in the AM is to find a new preferred pose for the PM. Sleep lines are caused by sleeping positions that squash your face on one side. Did you know that the average head weighs around eight pounds? Imagine all of that weight on your face – a recipe for crinkled up morning skin .
If you really can’t sleep in any other position than on your tummy, invest in some satin or silk pillow covers. Not only does this mean that you wake up feeling like a princess every morning, but these super soft materials help your skin and hair to glide along them when you move around in your sleep. Less friction and creases means less frizzy hair and skin crinkles.
If you lie flat during your slumber, fluids can pool around your eyes and make them appear puffy in the morning. By keeping your head elevated during the night, the fluids don’t have chance to gather and you wake up looking bright eyed and beautiful.
Say goodbye to the pasty morning face and hello to sun-kissed skin. Before your bedtime routine, exfoliate your skin, moisturise, apply some false tan and then wait a few hours. Right before bed, wash it off and go to bed fresh as a daisy. You’ll wake up with a sun-kissed glow.
We love voluminous hair in the morning, but that doesn’t mean we love it to look like we’ve been dragged through a hedge backwards. The controlled voluminous look is where it’s at! Pile your hair in a high bun on top of your head to add some controlled volume. This way, your hair won’t get in the way while you’re in the land of nod and when you wake up it looks big and sexy. Va-va-voom!
We don’t recommend wearing makeup to bed, but there are some natural mineral powders out there that can cover up imperfections without clogging your pores. Make sure you get a natural mineral makeup and apply with a clean brush before you go to bed.
Who wants to wake up with dry flaky skin? Not us! Apply a nourishing moisturiser on your face and neck before bed to wake up with plump, revitalised skin. You can apply a moisturiser to your feet too and you’ll feel even more beautiful in your waking hours.
The phrase “beauty sleep” is actually grounded in truth. Indeed, those who get their recommended eight hours of sleep per night have smoother, clearer skin. If you are sleep deprived, there’s a good chance you’ll look pale, worn-out, and have bags under your eyes. Go to bed at a decent time so you can fill the recommended quota of eight hours per night.
Sorry girls, panda eyes aren’t the key to waking up looking gorgeous. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that sleeping in your makeup means that you’ll look gorgeous when you wake up. The chances are, no matter how smudge-proof, waterproof or long-lasting that mascara is, it will be a mess by the time you’ve tossed and turned in it all night. Cleanse away any dirt and oils that are sitting on top of your skin before bed and you’ll wake up feeling clean and beautiful.
Slather on some body butter before you drift off into dreamland to wake up feeling smooth and smelling good. Pay particular attention to dry areas such as elbows and knees. For super smooth legs, make sure you’ve gone through your usual hair removal routine before you go to bed so you can be proud to strut around looking gorgeous in the morning.

Sleep… what isn’t it good for? When we catch a cold, the best treatment is to stay in bed as long as possible. When something’s bothering us and keeping our spirits low, the best way to cheer up and forget our worries is to sleep it off. When a big event is coming up and we want to be in tip-top shape, what do we do the night before? You guessed it right, we make sure we get a good night’s sleep to be well-rested and energized.
You can’t help but notice the difference in the mirror after quality shuteye, no matter what age you are. Everything is different—the look in your eyes, the tone of your skin, the appearance of fine lines. And it’s no wonder why: if you let your body recharge and repair itself properly, you’ll see the results.
First and foremost, it all starts with healthy sleep. If you have difficulty falling asleep night after night, your first step is to find out the cause of your struggles. Try changing your lifestyle, your nighttime rituals, your food and beverage choices. You want to make sure that you not only fall asleep fast but also sleep through the night. (Fall asleep fast and sleep all night.)
Once you’ve won your sleep back, the following tricks will enhance your appearance and really make that sleep real “beauty sleep”:
- Choose silk or satin pillowcases. The gliding texture of these fabrics will smooth out wrinkles and fine lines, as there will be less friction between your face and your pillow. Plus, silk is gentler on the hair, so you’ll have less detangling to do the next morning.
- You sleep with your face on your pillow for seven to eight hours a night, so you want to make sure your skin isn’t in contact with any bacteria or dirt. For that reason, wash your pillowcases often, and flip your pillows over every day.
- Sleeping on your back is considered to be the healthiest sleeping position, and now there’s an extra advantage to it: it doesn’t promote the formation of creases and wrinkles associated with repeated pressure of sleeping on your side or on your stomach with your face deep into the pillow.
- Water is life, you know it. And it’s essential for a healthy, youthful appearance. How do you keep yourself hydrated at night? Use a humidifier to counteract the impact of dry indoor air due to central heating and air conditioning.
- Resist your nighttime cravings. In other words, don’t drink alcohol and consume any foods rich in sodium. Alcohol and salt are dehydrating, and as a result, your body starts retaining fluids, which shows up in a form of morning puffiness around the eyes. For best results, add another, smaller pillow underneath your main pillow.

2. Drink less water before going to bed
To wake up without swelling under the eyes, do not drink a lot of fluids and eliminate salty foods at night. Ideally, the last meal should be at least 4 hours before bedtime.

After a long, hard day at work or a crazy party, the last thing you want to do is prepare your skin for sleep. You skip your beauty prep, fall asleep and then wonder why you wake up with puffy eyes and dull, tired-looking skin nearly each day. All women are beautiful but not every woman takes care of her skin properly. While you can skip your morning face wash once in a while, you can’t allow yourself to skip your bedtime beauty rituals no matter how tired you are. Here are the things you should do before sleep to wake up looking your best.
1. Take a bath
One of the things everyone wants to do once they are home is to destress and relax. There are many ways to fight stress before bed. Some women drink a glass of wine, while others watch their favorite TV shows. Those are unhealthy ways that can make you look even more tired in the morning. Taking a warm bath before you hit the sack helps to relax and sleep better so you will definitely wake up super beautiful in the morning.
2. Wash off your makeup
Sleeping in your makeup is a surefire way to wake up with some pimples, skin irritation, fine lines and wrinkles. Whether you are using natural organic makeup or mineral makeup, beauty products as well as bacteria and debris clog your pores and lead to acne and even premature wrinkles, if you don’t wash them off each day before sleep. No matter how tired or lazy you are, take off your makeup in order to wake up looking fresh and beautiful.
3. Moisturize your skin
Although it’s recommended to put moisturizer all over the body, make sure you at least use your night cream and eye cream before you head to bed. Once you take a shower or a bath, apply your cream to your face and lotion to your body to keep your skin moisturized all night long. Dry skin looks more wrinkled, which means you won’t look your best in the morning if you don’t moisturize your skin at night.
4. Brush your pearly whites
Let’s be honest, how often do you skip brushing your teeth? Many women confess that they often forget to brush their teeth before going to bed and they think it’s okay because they always do it in the morning. Studies repeatedly show that not brushing teeth before bed can lead to some serious health issues, including heart disease. It sounds like a good reason to brush your pearly whites regularly.
5. Drink a glass of lemon water
Don’t worry, ladies, a glass of lemon water won’t cause midnight bathroom visits, unless you drink a few glasses. Lemon water keeps your body hydrated as well as clear you skin while you sleep. Give it a try tonight and you will wake up with a plump and radiant skin tomorrow. Enjoy a glass of lemon water in the morning to speed up your metabolism, boost your energy and feel and look your best all day long.
6. Get your beauty sleep
Sleep makes you feel better and look beautiful regardless of your age. You probably know you need to get 7-8 hours of sleep each night, but do you know exactly when you should go to bed to wake up looking beautiful in the morning? Between the hours of 11pm and 3am, your skin is repairing and restoring, so make sure you go to bed around 11 pm and get at least 7 hours of sleep.
7. Meditate
Yup, meditation is one of those things that can help you wake up looking amazing. It’s actually my personal tip. I live a highly stressful life so often have to deal with stress-related skin issues, especially breakouts. What I found out is that meditation before bed helps me destress, get rid of negative thoughts and prepare for sleep. I fall asleep calm and happy and wake up feeling great and looking beautiful.
You see, you don’t need to spend hours before bedtime in order to wake up beautiful in the morning. Develop these bedtime habits to spend less time trying to hide under-eye circles and pimples. What do you do before going to bed? Anything to add?
How to wake up with glowing skin? 10 Tips
Imagine what it would be like to wake up to flawless, gorgeous looking skin every day; wouldn’t that be great! We can’t give you the ingredients for a potion that will change your skin overnight, but we can give you some tips that will help your skin, to look its best first thing in the morning. At night, your skin gets a chance to repair itself and you can help it do that. You can also do a lot of things to stop making your skin worse overnight too. If you want to see fabulous looking skin in the mornings, follow these ten tips on how to wake up with glowing skin.
1. Remove all that makeup!
Yes, we know you have heard it before, but do you always remove all your makeup before you go to bed? Sleeping with makeup on your face will clog up your pores and it will cause acne and blemishes. You can’t even think of waking up to glowing skin, if you went to bed with your makeup still on.
2. Exfoliate regularly
Regular exfoliation is one of the keys to glowing clear skin; it removes dead skin cells from the surface of your skin and it will help to keep the pores in your skin clear. How often you exfoliate will depend on your own skin type, but usually, three times a week will be enough. Exfoliating your skin should make it feel soft and smooth, not sore. If your skin starts to get red and sore, you are exfoliating too much.
3. Wash your face both in the morning and at night
According to one survey, only around fifty percent of women actually wash their face often enough. Wash your face at night, to remove any makeup residue that may be left, and first thing in the morning, to clean up any excess oil and sweat that may have accumulated on your skin overnight. This regular routine will help you wake up with fresh and clear skin every morning.
4. Drink a glass of water before you go to bed
You do get dehydrated when you sleep, and that can show on your skin. Drink a glass of water before you go to bed and that will help keep you hydrated through the night. Proper hydration is more important for healthy looking, glowing skin than you might think. If you do become dehydrated, one of the very first things you will notice is that your skin loses some of its colour and life.
5. Use a humidifier
If dry skin is a problem for you, try using a humidifier in your bedroom. The air in your home can get dried out by the heating in the winter, and the air conditioning in the summer, but if you use a humidifier, it will put some of that moisture back into the air and you will find that you will sleep better and, when you wake up, your skin won’t be so dry.
6. Try using night oil
For really radiant skin, try using night oil on your skin a few times a week. You only need a drop or two applied to your skin before you go to bed, and the oil will penetrate deep into your skin overnight and nourish and hydrate your skin beautifully.
7. Use a moisturiser every night
If you use nothing else on your skin at all, you must use a moisturiser every night, if you want to wake up with glowing skin. Select a high quality moisturiser that has been formulated for your skin type and, using about half a teaspoon, gently massage the moisturiser into the face and neck and then leave it on overnight.
8. Use an overnight face mask a few times a week
Once, or twice a week, you can skip your regular skin scare routine and replace it with a deep penetrating overnight face mask. When you sleep at night, your skin goes through a phase of cellular repair, so it is more receptive to the ingredients that are in an overnight mask. Just thoroughly cleanse your face first and then slather on the face mask and you will wake up with wonderfully soft and hydrated skin.
9. Go to bed earlier
This is another one of those pieces of advice that you might have read a million times before, but you really do need your beauty sleep. Get your eight hours of sleep every night and your skin won’t look so dull and tired. It will also give more time for your moisturiser, face mask, or oil, to do their job properly.
10. Try to sleep on your back
Sleeping on your back will help stop your face creasing up and rubbing on your pillow, which will prevent redness in the mornings and it could also help stop lines and wrinkles forming. You should also change your pillow cases regularly, to stop there being a build-up of grease and bacteria on them.
What are you favourite beauty tips for glowing skin?
Have you ever spent the night at a guys house and you feel awkward about how you might look when you wake up? Maybe you are just getting to know each other and you don’t want him to know that you apply 20 minutes worth of makeup each time before you see him? Because for a lot of us we just don’t just wake up looking fabulous. Most of the time your hair looks like you stuck your finger in an electric socket, your mascara is all over your cheek and your foundation managed to get your white pillows a nice shade of beige. Of course when we are in the comfort of our own home, it’s not such a big deal. I mean sometimes you wake up and there are Doritos from last night laying next to you and it’s completely acceptable… maybe it would have been better if they were baked Doritos, but whatever, the point I am trying to make is how do you cheat? Give it a few months then you can let yourself go and let the Doritos come into the bed, but for the first awkward months of “getting to know each other” let’s discuss some secrets on how to wake up beautiful.
First, never go to bed with makeup on. Ladies you should already know this, but for those of you who don’t, IT IS THE WORST IDEA. You usually wake up with massive pimples on your face, your skin is oily, your makeup is all over the place (half the time it ended up on the pillow) and your eyeliner is so all over the place that it almost looks as if you were mugged the night before. Plain and simple, you just look like an embarrassing mess. I know you have experienced these types of things.
Second, get your eyelashes tinted. If you take off your makeup before you go to bed and you have tinted eyelashes it still looks as if you are wearing mascara. Tinting your eyelashes is an amazing trick and they last for about 4 weeks. If you are someone who doesn’t walk out of the house without mascara then you need to do this! Also, if you are someone who likes to have their eyebrows in place and in shape, buy a clear brow mascara and apply it lightly to keep those caterpillars in place!
Third, buy a tinted moisurizer. If you are someone who doesn’t feel comfortable not wearing foundation then buy a nice tinted moisturizer. It will keep your skin fresh and also give you a bit of coverage. This is a great trick especially if your skin is uneven. You can also buy a tinted chap stick if you are someone who likes to wear lipstick and want to add some color to your lips.
Fourth, pinch your cheeks, not hard, be nice. It gives the illusion that you have a little bit of blush on. It’s so simple and gives your skin some color.
Fifth, have confidence. No one should fear not having makeup on. We live in a society that puts a lot of pressure on us to look a certain way, and sometimes we let it get the best of us. Have confidence in yourself that you are enough and that you are beautiful.
So to conclude. If you are having your first sleep over at your man’s place and you don’t want him to know your “real” habits quite yet here are your key steps: remember to remove your makeup, tint your eyelashes, invest in tinted moisturizer and colored chap stick, apply a clear eyebrow mascara, pinch your cheeks, and most importantly have confidence.
There has always been a lot of talk about that “morning look”. When we first heard about that “right out of the bed” look, the first picture that came to mind was not a refreshing one. Funny but true, it only appeared to scare us! How could this kind of look ever appeal to someone? How nice would it be if it really looked like what everyone thinks it does? Sounds difficult but trust us, it’s not something impossible to achieve.
With these easy tips to wake up beautiful every morning you can also change that horrible picture you have been seeing in your mirror every morning.:
- Wash your face before you decide to hit the bed. This will remove all the dirt you have collected throughout the day on your face and will make you feel fresh.
- Simply washing the face isn’t enough. You need to moisturize the skin as well. Make sure you apply a gentle moisturiser on your face every night before sleeping. This can also be in the form of those anti-ageing creams that you can get over the counter. These are a great help for hydrating the skin.
- Tie your hair in a bun: Tying the hair in a bun or a braid is advised if you don’t want to wake up on a pillow covered up with lot of hair strands on it. Also, the hair that comes on the face leaves a lot of oil on it, making it look greasy in the morning. To save the face from this torture and also to save your hair, tie them up loosely in a bun. This will help give them a voluminous look when you wake up and also a fresh, oil-free face for you.
- Wash the pillow cover regularly: This helps in removing the bacteria and germs that are left on the pillows after long use.
- Use satin or silk for sleeping: The feathery soft touch of these sheets will help you avoid those fine lines and sleep wrinkles you get every morning on your face when you wake up. Not only these are soft and smooth they also produce less friction on your face while you sleep thereby less lines on the face when you wake up.
- Drink a lot of water to keep your skin hydrated. This old remedy never fails in giving you a great skin and doesn’t require any investment too. So, go ahead and hydrate yourself as much as possible.
- And most of all get plenty of sleep to prevent those under eye bags and dark circles. Not just that, sleeping a lot will also help you feel fresh and more energetic when you wake up.
So, forget about those days when you are afraid of looking at yourself in the mirror right after waking up. Try these easy tips and wake up beautiful every morning.

l and feel fresh all day long. But if you cannot have it on some or the other day then there is not much to worry about. You can always wake up to a beautiful skin. Overcome these beauty hurdles and get beautiful skin with these easy steps.
Wake Up Beautiful By Following These Simple Steps–
Proper Sleeping Posture- To wake up beautiful, the first thing that you need to do is to follow a correct posture while sleeping. Try and sleep with two pillows under your neck as it increases the blood circulation and reduces eye puffiness. Also do not sleep with your face on the pillow as it will put pressure on your facial skin and leads to wrinkles.
Cold Treatment- You might be tempted for a hot water or steam bath on a cold morning. But remember that along with providing you relief it increases skin problems. It accentuates the puffiness of skin and eyes. So it is always better that you go for a cold shower. Try and wash your face with cold water after you get up as it relaxes the skin cells and reduces puffiness. You may also rub your facial skin especially the under eye portion with ice cubes as it increases blood circulation to a great extent. It is very easy to get a beautiful skin after you wake up by following these simple methods.
Cream- After you wash your face with cold water it is time for the skin care treatment. Remember your eyes need special care in order to look beautiful. The skin under the eyes is the most supple and hence you need to take care of it all the more. Apply an oil free under eye lotion to your eyes to reduce dark circles and hydrate the skin area. Also go for a good toner and sunscreen for your face. Follow this skin care regime to get a beautiful skin when you wake up.
Exercise- Exercising is very essential to feel fresh, confident and beautiful the whole day. Take a ‘head stand’ or a ‘backbend’ for that purpose. It will keep you full with a sense of fitness and beauty throughout the day. Such exercises increases flow of oxygen in the skin cells making them look more refreshed and beautiful. So, if you want to get a beautiful skin you have to add some regular exercises to your daily routine.
Wake up beautiful by following these easy ways and look fresh and invigorating the whole day.
When you wake up in the morning, you would usually observe broken hair on your pillow and oil on your face. Over a period of time you might also see dark circles, wrinkles and fine lines appearing. You end up opening your beauty wardrobe each morning, to resolve these issues.
But, instead of using cosmetics, you should try making some simple changes in your lifestyle. Take a look at a few tricks that will ensure a ‘beautiful you’ every morning.
5. Pile it under your head
Sleeping with your head slightly elevated will help to improve blood and lymph circulation in your body. If you are sleeping on a flat surface, there are high chances that your body fluids will gather under your eyes and lead to puffy eyes in the morning.
6. Braid your hair before going to bed
If you braid your hair regularly before going to bed, then it would not be a messy tangle when you wake up. This one is religiously recommended by most grandmothers. It not only strengthens your hair, but also leads to hair growth.
7. Do your laundry regularly
You may be wondering about the relationship between laundry and your looks? Washing and changing your bed sheets frequently is hygienic and help to keep away bacteria. You should change your pillow covers every other day, and your sheets twice a week. This helps to prevent the build-up of bacteria, which cause skin problems, such as pimples and blackheads.
1. Get an Early Start
Make a habit of washing your face a few hours before bed. If you wait until you’re tired, you’re more likely to blow it off — allowing “toxins and dirt to stay on there all night,” says dermatologist Laurie Polis of N.Y.C. Another consequence? You miss the best time to treat your skin. “At night there’s more blood flow to the skin’s surface, and there’s nothing else on your face to interfere with absorption,” Polis says.
Try: Neutrogena Deep Clean Relaxing nightly cleanser, $7; at drugstores.
2. Sleep on Your Back
Note to Audrey Hepburn fans: Lying on your stomach is bad for “beauty sleep.” The average head weighs 7 to 8 pounds — a lot of pressure to be putting on your face every night. In fact, many dermatologists say they can tell what side of the face people sleep on by the number of wrinkles there.
3. Get a Lift
Sleep with your head elevated on two pillows, or put the headrest area of your bed on 2- to 4-inch pieces of wood. Gravity helps lymph and blood flow so fluid won’t accumulate, Polis says.
4. Save Money, Not Wrinkles
At night you don’t need to worry about eye treatments smearing your makeup, so slather on the richest formula you can. Polis swears by Aquaphor: “It conditions lashes and hydrates the delicate eye skin really well.”
Try: Aquaphor Healing ointment, $9; drugstore.com.
5. Sneak a Glow
Mix a drop of self-tanner into your night cream or use a cream that contains a bit of tan-producing DHA.
Try: Clarins Radiance-Plus self-tanning cream, $52; clarinsusa.com.
6. Avoid Carb Face
To wake with defined cheekbones, eat a high-protein, low-sugar dinner (try salmon and asparagus, a natural diuretic). Skip the rice, pasta and potatoes. “When our diet’s high in glycemic carbohydrates, our features take on a soft, doughy appearance,” says Connecticut dermatologist Nicholas Perricone.
7. Wrap It Up
To minimize A.M. frizz, sleep on a satin pillowcase or put your hair in a silk scarf. “Those fabrics are much softer than cotton, so there’s less friction,” says Harry Josh, a John Frieda stylist.
8. Find Your Inner Ballerina
Pile hair into a twist on the top of your head (use a scrunchie to avoid crimping). “In the morning you’ll have major volume and beautiful waves,” Josh says.
9. Turn on the Hair Conditioning
Sleep with a moisturizing treatment in damp hair overnight. We like Philip B. Katira Hair Masque, but any rich conditioner will do. Rinse in the morning.
It’s not always easy to start your day on a good note when the first thing you see when you take a mirror are the puffy eyes, the knotty bungle that is your hair and the wrinkles from the fabric of your pillow imprinted on your face.
Yeah, we’ve all been there, and we’ve all ran out of time to get ready without managing to clean up and pull ourselves together, so most people have just accepted the fact that there’s really tough chance they’ll just wake up looking great. But still, there are some things that can be done to help out the situation, precautions, if you will. So read on and take mental notes on what to do to wake up looking good, or at least, decent, and not take forever to get ready.
1. Never Go to Bed With Your Make up Still on
I know you already know this is the one sacred rule. But you know what? I also know you’ve probably broken the rule more than once. Rules are meant to be broken they say, but not this one, never, ever, no. Going to bed with your make up on not only does some serious damage to your skin, but also turns your encounter with your reflection in the mirror when you wake up into an encounter with the Joker himself. You can almost see him mouthing “Why so horrid looking?”
You don’t want that.
2. Rest
8 hours. That’s how much your body needs to get well rested. Anything less is going to add to that beat up look most of us have going on in the mornings. Getting more than 8 hours of sleep can also be the cause of dark circles under your eyes. I get that we don’t live in a perfect world, and more often than not our sleeping schedule is dictated by a lot of things we can’t have that much influence on, but when possible try and stick to the magic 8 hours of sleep rule. How? Simply go to sleep earlier.
3. Use Cold Water When Washing Your Face
Especially in the mornings. Cold water wakes up your skin, tightens it and makes it more elastic. Usually we look kind of pale and washed off when we wake up, that’s because everything in our body slows down while we’re sleeping, including blood flow, so there’s nothing like a splash of cold water to awaken your morning look and bring color back to your face.
4. Go to Bed Well Hydrated
A glass of water before bed might make you have to go to the bathroom during the night but that’s a risk worth taking, ’cause it also helps your skin stay beautiful throughout the night, and is very good for your health. You can also try using hydrating face cream before going to bed, if you have naturally dry skin.
5. Sleep With Your Lip Balm on
Chapped lips are the worst, and more often than not I wake up with chapped lips of course. So if you’re having that problem too wearing lip balm when you sleep is the solution. Most of it wears off during the night obviously, but it’s pretty good as far as damage control goes.
6. Put Your Hair in a Bun
This way you wake up with an instant hair do – just take off the hair tie and shake your head and you have that messy I-just-rolled-out-of-bed-but-I-look-damn-good kind of look that all the rage lately.
7. Splurge on Satin Sheets
It’s a well-known fact that satin is the only material that doesn’t wrinkle your skin whatsoever. So, if you’re worried about getting wrinkles, throw out the old cotton sheets and get some satin ones.
Foster a nightly pamper routine
Winding down and de-stressing after a busy day can be difficult for a lot of us. Dedicating an extra 5 minutes to your nightly skincare routine is a great way to ensure that you have both gorgeous skin, as well as those extra few minutes each night to spend on just yourself. Consider adding an extra step to your cleanse, exfoliate, and moisturise routine such as a quick mask or a serum in order to make you feel extra special and soothed. Take your time with this!
Invest in luxurious sheets
While it can seem annoying dropping that hard earned money on sheets, it’s important to think about exactly how much time you will be spending between them. Investing in a good set will improve your relaxation as you tuck yourself in for the night. We love bamboo sheets!
Chamomile tea
Derived from the daisy family, Chamomile tea has been used to lower stress levels, protect the skin, help ease menstrual cramps and induce sleep for those who drink it. Pour a cup before bed and feel the tranquillising symptoms send you in to a deep slumber.
Sleep soundtrack
There are countless apps available for our devices that will play relaxing tones throughout the night that are designed to keep our minds at ease. Whether it is the sounds of the rainforest, ocean, or even city background noise, there is a soundtrack for everyone, and you’ll be surprised how rested you’ll feel come morning.
Moisturise before bed
Spending the time to moisturise your body before bed will have you waking up feeling soft, smooth and hydrated. Nowadays, you can get lotions that heat up throughout application allowing for sensory warmth during winter, as well as cooling lotions for the warmer seasons.
Wear beautiful sleepwear
Naturally, what you wear to bed will affect the way you feel when you wake up. Would you rather start your day in a baggy tee covered in holes and old hair dye stains, or a cute silky soft PJ set? Invest in sleepwear that makes you not only look good, but feel good. You’ll wake up beautiful.
Invest in a humidifier
Everyone can see benefits from a more humid environment. Cold, dry air extracts moisture from skin, resulting in a dull, flaking complexion. A humidifier will prevent the damages that a harsh climate can create, and help you sustain a bright and glowing look.
Sleep on silk
Switching out your cotton pillowcases for satin, or wearing a silk scarf to bed will reduce the friction that your hair endures throughout the night, meaning you won’t wake up with a tangled, frizzy mess.
Don’t sleep on your front
Notorious beauty icon Audrey Hepburn was known, in part, for her helpful beauty tips and tricks, and swore by avoiding sleeping face down as it’s bad for beauty sleep. On average, a human head weighs between 3-4kgs, so if you’re sleeping face down then you’re putting 3-4kgs of stress onto your face each night.
Avoid heavy carbs
Eating heavy carbs at night will give your face that soft doughy appearance come morning. If you’re looking to wake up with defined cheekbones, opt for a high protein dinner rather than heavier options such as pasta and potatoes.
Get close and personal
Sex before bed will not only helps you bond with your partner, but according to the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology at the Morehouse School of Medicine, it will also raise your oestrogen levels ‘which can enhance a woman’s REM cycle for a deeper sleep’.

7 WAYS TO WAKE UP BEAUTIFUL
There are lots of things that can make you wake up looking all different (not on the positive side really.) You might notice you have an oily face, breakouts, and your hair all looking rough.
Here are 7 ways that can help you look all beautiful in the morning when you wake up.
1. No matter how tired you are, make sure you clean/wash off your make-up. Before you start dozing off you can do this earlier. A quick fix is face wipes
2. Moisturize your face. Apply a good night cream is always a great option to keep your face moisturized and smooth in the morning.
3. Don’t forget your hair needs a tender loving care too. Using your night hair routine, moisturize your hair and cover with your satin bonnet. This helps to keep your hair safe, intact and less prone to breakage.
4. Change your pillow to Satin/Silk pillowcases. This will help your hair and face to stay moisturized.
5. Hydrate your lips. Using a lip balm moisturizes your lips, leaves them soft and keeps from drying up.
6. Apply Aloe Vera gel on your face. This gives you a fresher and more radiant skin in the morning. This works for me all the time.
7. Sleep on your back. The weight that goes on a particular side of your face can cause wrinkles and if it continues then you’ll be getting ready to get loads of anti-wrinkle creams to work with. You might not notice that immediately though.
As someone who takes vitamin supplements regularly, I have one major complaint: they can get really expensive! So when the vegan + cruelty-free brand Pacific Beauty released their line of supplement powders, I was ecstatic.
There are 4 powders: Glow Green for your super greens, Seek Balance for probiotics, Slay All Day to destress and improve concentration, and Wake Up Beautiful to improve sleep quality. Since I’ve been having trouble falling and staying asleep, I decided to give Wake Up Beautiful a try.

Typical sleep support supplements always include melatonin , but I love that Pacifica Beauty went above and beyond the basics:
Key Ingredients
☆ Melatonin (2mg) – Our brain naturally secretes melatonin to help us fall asleep, though a variety of factors including light can suppress melatonin production. Plus it’s also an antioxidant!
☆ Chamomile Flower Extract – While there’s little evidence that this actually helps with insomnia, it can help reduce anxiety, which can often be a cause of insomnia.
☆ L-Theanine – An amino acid that helps promote relaxation and reduce anxiety without sedation. Can also help improve sleep quality for those with ADHD.
☆ Lavender Extract – Often used in aromatherapy, studies shown that taking it orally can significantly decrease anxiety symptoms and improve general sleep quality.
☆ Reishi Mushroom Powder – Frequently used in Traditional Chinese Medicine, it’s an antioxidant that can help improve our immune system. Several studies found that taking reishi can help improve our overall physical, mental, and even emotional well-being.
This blend not only helps us fall asleep, but also lowers anxiety – which for me is one of the key causes of restlessness. Does anyone else’s mind race while in bed thinking about all the things they need to do the next day and making a million mental notes? I swear there are times when I’m mentally writing drafts because I have a sponsored post due soon. Yes I’m that high-strung.
Does it work? Yes!
Disclaimer: I’ve taken melatonin by itself before, as a matter of fact I have a 5mg bottle on my nightstand. But obviously melatonin by itself wasn’t working for me, which is why I decided to give the Pacifica Wake Up Beautiful Beauty Powder a try.
I was delightfully surprised by how good this tasted when mixed with water! Usually I’m not a fan of lavender anything but this had a nice fruity flavor with minimal floral notes. It does take a bit of stirring to get the powder to dissolve completely, but you could speed things up by using warm water or even a blender.
At around the 30 minute mark was when I started to get sleepy, and the effects felt very similar to taking drowsy allergy or cold medicines. Usually I’m a pretty light sleeper, but with Wake Up Beautiful I’m able to sleep through the night without waking up.
Unlike drowsy medication, I don’t feel extra tired or groggy the next morning. Instead I feel refreshed and energized, and even though I slept for the same number of hours, I can tell my sleep quality is much better when I take this supplement.

Also props to Pacifica for not trying to rob us with these beauty powders. A quick look at similar sleep support supplements and you’ll see prices from $38 (14 servings of Moon Juice Dream Dust) to $95 (30 servings of Dr. Barbara Sturm Sleep Food). Suddenly the Wake Up Beautiful Beauty Powder seems like such a steal, especially because it actually works!
