According to the Democrat and Chronicle, Jakarah Lopez-Moore of Rochester, New York, was reported missing on August 29, two days after she was last seen. According to the Democrat & Chronicle, 13 WHAM, and Rochester First, the 16-year-old’s body was discovered in the woods of Rochester, New York, over two months later.

According to Rochester First, her body had been rotting for more than a month. According to Rochester Police Department Capt. Frank Umbrino, investigators rushed Saturday to a place behind a recycling business in the region after witnesses who were fishing discovered the body.

According to the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office, the body was recognised as Lopez-Moore’s, according to the Democrat & Chronicle. According to the media, her death was deemed a homicide, and the cause of death has not yet been revealed. Lopez-Mooren voluntarily left her home in the early hours of August 27, according to Umbrino, but her lack of social media activity immediately sparked worries, according to Rochester First.

Report of Investigation

“Although Jakarah was going through normal childhood things, it was unusual for her to be out of contact with her family for two days,” Captain Umbrino allegedly stated at the time. “It was unusual for her to stay off social media during that time.”

López-Moore was active on social media until the day before she was last seen, according to one of her Facebook profiles. Lopez-Moore’s mother paid tribute to her daughter on social media on Tuesday. “You’ve always been too big for this planet!” That’s why God wants you to return! She stated this in a Facebook post. “I just wish I had more time to spend with you.” I wish I could have hugged you again.

“I wish I could have told you that I love you one more time.” “Forever my Jakarah Mahree!” she said in the post, which included a photo of Lopez-Moore as a newborn. “I will see you again someday and when I do I will never let you go.” Another Facebook post stated.

A woman called Kita Herring wrote on Facebook about having previously worked with López-Moore. “Perhaps you trusted me because (sic) I know what it’s like to be alone/I had to fend for myself from a young age, just like you.”

Maybe it’s because (sic) we were both a little messed up in the brain, therefore I was able to contact (sic) you,” Herring wrote on Monday. “Never forget you.” She went on to say that “there is something about foster care that brings people together,” however it was unclear whether Lopez-Moore was ever in foster care. THE MOTHER OF THE VICTIM HAS BEEN CONTACTED. “Even if you didn’t believe it, Jakarah, you were loved,” Herring wrote in his post. The cause of death is yet unknown.

According to media reports, the death is still being investigated. May the soul rest in peace.
