Jeremiah N. O’Neal, 20, is now identified as the victim of a deadly shooting that occurred on Monday night at the Safeway in Des Moines, Iowa, at 21401 Pacific Highway S, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.
O’Neal was shot while riding in a car in the parking lot, according to the authorities, and had several bullet wounds.
According to reports, shortly after 5 p.m. on Monday, O’Neal’s vehicle was parked in the Safeway parking lot, occupied by one male and one female.
When a suspicious vehicle with two unknown occupants approached, both jumped out and started firing at the male in the victim vehicle.
O’Neal was shot multiple times and passed away immediately.
The two suspects left the area by reentering their stolen car.
The homicide suspect vehicle was found and stopped by Tukwila Police on Tuesday, July 25. The car sped off, so the police started pursuing it. One man and one woman were apprehended by police after the car crashed. A third male remains undiscovered.
