Jim Ross updated the blog section of JRsbarbq.com. The following items are among the highlights.

-Ross on the WWE Scramble matches: "WWE Hall of Famer Pat Patterson told me that he loved the idea of the Championship Scramble coming up at Unforgiven in about three weeks. Patterson created the Royal Rumble concept and apparently Pat has visualized the "Championship Scramble" and he feels certain that it will be exciting.

"Before critics damn the match perhaps we should allow it to actually happen. I am reserving my opinion until I see the match. The success of this unique attraction is all in the execution, as usual. Plus it is a chance for multiple wrestlers to shine. Someone we unexpect may have a jaw dropping performance."

Powell's POV: I'll certainly give the match a chance. I think the biggest fear of fans is that the titles change hands a ridiculous number of times. Perhaps that's overanalyzing or old school, but surely J.R. should appreciate the "old school" concerns of fans and critics.

-Ross on Jimmy Garvin: "I saw a photo of Jimmy Garvin, who along with fellow Freebird Michael Hayes, inducted Buddy Jack Roberts in to the NWA Hall of Fame in Charlotte, I think that is the name of that particular HOF, and Jimmy Jam has gotten damn near bald! His locks are a far cry from when I first met him and he was Terry Garvin's valet, yes men can be valets too or at least they could years ago (is that so wrong?), and the Garvin's teamed to face Cowboy Bill Watts in a "Loser Leave Town", Handicap Match that yours truly refereed."

Powell's POV: What's your problem with bald guys, J.R.? Honestly, I was as surprised as anyone when I saw some recent video footage of Garvin and discovered that he joined the ranks to the "folically challenged." Welcome to the club, Jimmy.

-Ross on Takeshi Morishima: "Takeshi Morishima had a non televised match that I witnessed on Tuesday night before we taped Friday Night Smackdown. Morishima wrestles for the Ring of Honor organization which does a really nice job with their promotion for the record. When I saw Morishima in his wrestling attire I thought that the late Terry Gordy, who toured Japan many, many times back in the day, had fathered a 'love child.' Morishima's physique reminded me of the late Freebird in an crazy sort of way. If the young Japanese athlete can get to Gordy's level in the ring then Takeshi will have done something special because Gordy was extraordinarly special. I hope that WWE 24/7 highlights the tag team bouts that Gordy and Dr. Death had with the Steiner Brothers many years ago in WCW. These four gave the term Slobber-Knocker new meaning."

Powell's POV: J.R.'s description of Morishima got a laugh out of me because I just finished describing Morishima to someone in the business who wasn't familiar with him by saying he looked like a Japanese version of Gordy. I'd love to see Morishima get a run with WWE.

Other topics include Ric Flair refereeing a match, WWE legend Killer Kowalski, new J.R.'s BarBQ merchandise.
