On November 15, 2023, the community that encompasses the Kemp Independent School District (Kemp ISD) was shaken to its core by a horrific accident that took the life of a kid. The community as a whole is in great distress and mourning as a result of this event.
Authorities in the law enforcement sector are currently conducting an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the accident. A tragic death occurred as a result of the accident that involved a student from Kemp High School. At this time, there has been no additional information regarding the accident that has been made public.
As a response to this tragic event, Kemp Independent School District (ISD) issued a statement in which they extended their most sincere condolences to the student’s family and friends, as well as to all of the students and staff who have been affected by this loss. Additional pupils from KHS who were injured in the tragedy are being prayed for by the school system to make a full and rapid recovery.
Kemp ISD is committed to providing the necessary tools and support because it recognizes the significant impact that this occurrence has on both its children and its staff. At Kemp High School, beginning on Thursday, November 16, counselors and support staff will be available to give emotional support, advice, and a safe space for students to process the difficult feelings they may be experiencing as a result of these recent events.
The Kemp Independent School District strongly encourages students, teachers, and parents to reach out for assistance and participate in talks regarding the occurrence. During this trying time, the school community has come together to show support and compassion for all of those who have been impacted by the recent tragedy.
