The 911 call reporting the crash was received at approximately 7:30 p.m. In Massapequa, on Sunday, authorities reported that firefighters were seen at the scene of an incident on the Sunrise Highway. Video footage captured the moment as they gathered around an overturned car that had suffered significant damage. In a challenging situation, first responders found themselves attending to multiple cars, requiring them to resort to cutting into the metal of one vehicle in order to gain access.

The cause of the crash remains unclear at this time. However, according to detectives, the incident occurred as all the vehicles involved were heading west in the vicinity of a shopping center. Specifically, two cars had come to a halt at a red light in the center lane. In a tragic incident, a 32-year-old driver operating a Hyundai collided with the rear end of a vehicle containing six family members, comprising a father, his children, and a grandchild. The driver was reportedly traveling at a significantly high speed at the time of the collision.

In a dramatic turn of events, the family’s vehicle collided with a Chevrolet Malibu, operated by an 83-year-old man, before ultimately flipping over and striking yet another car.

In a tragic incident, the victim of the first car collision has been identified as 60-year-old Patrice Huntley from Flushing, Queens. Authorities confirmed this unfortunate news during a press conference held on Monday afternoon. Tragically, a 13-year-old girl named Hannah was declared deceased at the location, while her 10-year-old brother, Jeremiah, was swiftly transported to the hospital, where he was also pronounced deceased.

In a distressing turn of events, Huntley’s 6-year-old granddaughter and one of his children, an 18-year-old, have been admitted to the hospital and are currently fighting for their lives. In another development concerning the children of Huntley, it has been reported that a 14-year-old has sustained injuries to their back and ribs.
