Out of all the horror movies coming out for Halloween, none have been more highly anticipated than the film adaptation of Five Nights at Freddy’s. Now, as fans around the world wonder if they can watch Five Nights at Freddy’s for free on Peacock, students are looking to stream with a major discount.
Can you watch Five Nights at Freddy’s for free on Peacock?
Five Nights at Freddy’s premiered on Peacock and opened in cinemas on Friday, October 27.
Unfortunately, fans around the world are unable to watch Five Nights at Freddy’s for free on Peacock as the streaming platform has already removed the offer of a seven-day free trial to new customers.
Peacock used to offer a seven-day free trial of their subscription service to new users, but the option to try-before-you-buy was removed in 2021 – fellow streaming giants Netflix and Disney Plus also rescinded their respective free trial offers shortly after.
Peacock is available through the following subscription packages:
- Premium – $5.99 a month, advertisement-supported
- Premium Plus – $11.99 a month, advertisement-free
There is also an option to renew a subscription to Peacock annually, rather than monthly, which will save you a few dollars: $59.99 a year for premium, and $119.99 a year for premium plus.
Students can stream Five Nights at Freddy’s with major discount
The good news is that students can stream Five Nights at Freddy’s on Peacock with a major discount on the price of the premium subscription package.
As of October 27, 2023, students studying at college or university can access Five Nights at Freddy’s on Peacock for just $1.99 a month.
Users should note that this offer only lasts for 12 months, but starting such an account with Peacock is incredibly easy:
- Step One – Verify your student status with Peacock’s SheerID system, this will give you a unique promo code
- Step Two – Create a Peacock account using your unique promo code
- Step Three – Stream Five Nights at Freddy’s!
Once up and running, students can watch Five Nights at Freddy’s via a variety of supported devices including Windows, Mac, Roku, iOS, Android, FireTV, Samsung, Apple TV, Xbox, PlayStation, and Xfinity as well as many others.
Remember that Five Nights at Freddy’s is also opening in theatres on the same day that it was released for streaming via Peacock – if you wanted your jump scares on the big screen.
Customers in the UK can also add Peacock to your Sky Glass, Sky Q, Sky Go, and NOWTV packages at no extra cost.
Rumors of suspicious animatronic activity on the FNAF set
According to those working closest on the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie, the animatronics showed some seriously spooky behavior.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, director Emma Tammi explained how “They did have a life of their own at times” and revealed that one of the animatronics even started twitching without any input from their controllers.
“Each of the different [moving parts] on the animatronic was puppeteered by a different person. You had the eyes controlled by someone, the arms controlled by someone else, the ears and jaws controlled by a different puppeteer. I remember standing next to one of the puppeteers with a remote control in their hand and the animatronic all of a sudden twitched its eye. I looked at the puppeteer and I was like, ‘Did you do that?’ And she said, ‘No.!”
Tammi laughed off the spooky moment: “It just needed to let us know it was alive. I kid, but they are imperfect, and wonderfully so, and definitely we embraced the quirks when they would do stuff that we didn’t necessarily command them to do exactly.”In a separate interview with IGN, Tammi also shared how a different animatronics’ arm spontaneously combusted one day on set:
“We were rolling and I heard someone quietly and calmly say, ‘Foxy’s arm is on fire. One of the servos had been going for quite some time and it overheated… It just started smoking, and everyone calmly walked away and we put it out and switched out the arm.”
Five Nights at Freddy’s is open in theatres and streaming on Peacock.
