Peter Corr biography
Dr. Peter B. Corr is Director of the company. He was Professor, Department of Medicine (Cardiology) and Professor, Department of Pharmacology and Molecular Biology at Washington University in St. Louis. His research has been published in more than 160 scientific manuscripts. After 18 years, Dr. Corr left Washington University to become Senior Vice President for Discovery Research at Monsanto/Searle. Subsequently, Dr. Corr became President of Worldwide Research and Development at Warner Lambert/Parke Davis until the company was acquired by Pfizer. At Pfizer, Dr. Corr was initially President of Worldwide Development, and subsequently Senior Vice President, Science and Technology. He also headed Pfizer’s worldwide pharmaceutical research and development. Dr. Corr retired from Pfizer Inc in December 2006 and subsequently Co-Founded and is the Managing General Partner of Auven Therapeutics, a private equity firm pursuing an innovative life science investment strategy where products are acquired, developed and then sold to multinational pharmaceutical firms. . Corr is the recipient of numerous awards, including membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honorary Society, an Established Investigator Award from the American Heart Association, and a Research Career Development Award from the National Institutes of Health. He received the Washington University School of Medicine Teacher of the Year Award on several occasions and, in 1990, the Washington University Distinguished Faculty Award. In 2004, Dr. Corr was named a William Pitt Fellow at Pembroke College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, U.K. Dr. Corr was Chairman of the Science & Regulatory Executive Committee of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA); Chairman of the PhRMA Foundation Board of Directors; and Chairman of the Hever Group, representing Chief Scientific Officers (CSO’s) across the European and U.S. based pharmaceutical industry.
