Usually, when two people are in the same profession, there is also competition. But, when it comes to Mingyu and Jungkook, there is nothing but a pure friendship between them. They are from different Kpop groups – Seventeen and BTS, respectively, as you may already know.
Both don’t compete but root for each other’s success. Recently, the golden maknae confirmed that he had a date with Mingyu for the last time before his military enlistment.
Starting the discussion with Mingyu, the Seventeen member is now 26 years old and hails from Dongan-gu, Anyang-si, South Korea. He is a significant member of the group, more precisely, the leading rapper and the sub-vocalist. He is signed to the agency- Pledis Entertainment. Recently, Mingyu shared that he has resumed all his group activities. To the newbies, he took a short health-related hiatus.

Well, Jungkook’s popularity isn’t something new. These days, he has been making numerous headlines- his shaved head, prepping up for military service, pet dog-bam, controversy for collaborating with Justin Timberlake for his 3D remix, and whatnot. His prominence also includes his opportunity to perform at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, singing “Dreamers.” Well, his latest album- “Golden,” became a major success.
Moving on with Mingyu’s friendship with Jungkook, their love for music is the key. The former seems to have adjusted his tour dates and made time for his friend. The speculation started when the SEVENTEEN members, except Mingyu, were spotted at the airport in Korea. On the other hand, he was photographed at the Kansai airport in Osaka.
Jungkook Opened Up About His Last Friendship Date With Mingyu Before His Enlistment
On 8 December 2023, the BTS golden maknae, Jungkook, went live on Weverse. Well, his friendship with Mingyu isn’t something new. These two Kpop idols even got spotted hanging out together multiple times. Witnessing that, a fan randomly asked him about the Seventeen member.
In response to that, Jungkook shared that the two had recently spent some time together. It was more like a farewell and met over drinks. On this note, he said, “Yes, I do ask him to hang out with me quite often. But he is out of the country right now. When we hung out recently, though, we said goodbye. We had some goodbye drinks.”
As mentioned above, when Jungkook went live, Mingyu was in Japan for his group’s tour. The eagle-eyed fans noticed that Mingyu was not there when his other band members on 6 December were at the airport in Korea.
Why did Mingu have his altered travel plans? Tours are usually very important for every music artist. But, when one works in a band or a group, they usually travel together. That’s what we have all known so far. Mingyu surely had some plans and had to adjust some time. The plan was nothing but to meet his BTS pal. Even though the reason is still not disclosed, fans are clever enough to connect the dots.
Fans are already very upset with Jungkook’s and other BTS members’ hiatus. However, it was their mutual decision to go for mandatory military service at the same time. Because when they come back, they can return together with some amazing works. Being an ARMY, let’s just respect their decision and be patient about their comeback as a whole.
