Shirley Jean Skeen, who was born in Davidson, North Carolina, and later moved to Lexington, North Carolina, passed away on January 2, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving behind family and friends who will miss her deeply. Her parents, Wilfred Sherman and Lonnie Mae Bowers Marr, as well as her husband, Harrison Leon Skeen, and her brother, Alvin Marr, passed away before she did. She is survived by her sister Dorothy Stack of Greenville, South Carolina; her grandchildren Ryan Skeen, Kayla Skeen Collett, Brandon Milton, Logan Milton, Meghan Palmer, Tyler Robbins, Christopher Skeen, Audrey Skeen, and Alea Skeen; and her great-grandchildren Jaelyn Collett, Luke Collett, and Rylynn Skeen. Her sons Thomas Darrell Milton (Jennifer Lynn) of Lexington, Mark Skeen (Alice) of Lexington, and Harrison Leon Skeen, Jr. of Lexington are also among those who survive her.
