Student Of The Year 2 is a movie about love, overcoming obstacles, and making a comeback. Rohan, played by Tiger Shroff, and Mridula, played by Tara Sutaria, study together at Pishorilal college and are in love. However, Mridula moves to the prestigious St. Teresa College, and Rohan, aware of the expensive fees, gives up on his dream of attending the same institution. He eventually decides to apply under the sports quota and luckily, he is granted admission. When Rohan arrives at St. Teresa, he finds that Mridula has changed her name to Mia and has become somewhat distant from him. Despite this, Rohan wins her heart back and they become a couple once again. In the meantime, Rohan meets Manav Mehra, played by Aditya Seal, who is a star athlete and the stud of St. Teresa. Rohan and Mridula (Tara Sutaria) fall in love while studying at Pishorilal College. Mridula gets admission to the prestigious St Teresa College and changes her name to Mia, while Rohan manages to get admission under the sports quota. At St Teresa College, Rohan becomes friends with Manav Mehra (Aditya Seal), the star athlete of the college, but Manav's sister Shreya (Ananya Panday) dislikes Rohan and tries to cause problems for him. Rohan and Mia team up for a dance competition, which is important for both of them. Mia wants to gain popularity, while Shreya wants to leave for a dance school in London and escape her controlling father and brother. During the dance competition, Mia and Rohan lose while Manav and Shreya win. Mia gets upset and when Rohan goes to comfort her, he finds her getting cozy with Manav. Rohan gets angry and punches Manav, leading to his expulsion from St Teresa. In retaliation, Manav and his friends beat Rohan severely. The events that follow are depicted in the rest of the movie.
