We have made a list of alternatives after a number of users reported that YouTube Vanced is not working in April 2023.

Users across the globe have taken to Twitter to report they received the message “the following content is not available on this app” when they tried to access the app.

Vanced, which allowed users to stream content ad-free, previously announced that it will be discontinued after receiving a letter from Google due to “legal reasons”.

Here are some alternatives to the third-party app as many people have already started looking for other apps.

Users frustrated as YouTube Vanced is not working

Users have been left frustrated after they were served with the error message on Thursday, April 13.

Many were met with the message: “The following content is not available on this app,” followed by another message: “Watch on the latest version of YouTube.”

One person tweeted: “I can no longer access video on Vanced. They finally killed off one of the greatest apps to exist. Moving to Revanced but it will never be forgotten.”

Another commented: “Once you start using YouTube Vanced, there’s no going back.”

A third one added: “R.I.P. Youtube Vanced. Thanks for all the fun times. You will be missed.”

YouTube Vanced alternatives

As many are frustrated that the app is no longer working, here are some suggestions from us for other alternative apps:

  • YouTube Revanced – The third-party app is dubbed the “legacy of Vanced” and includes more advanced features than Vanced.
  • SkyTube – Blocks ads, supports video downloads and the app works without a YouTube sign-in.
  • YouTube Premium – If you upgrade to YouTube Premium, you can stream all content ad-free.
  • NewPipe – This alternative doesn’t need Google mobile services or YouTube API. It says it blocks ads, and supports video downloads and background playback.

Vanced confirmed the app is shutting down

In a Twitter post in March 2023, Vanced confirmed the app will be discontinued and shut down for good.

“Vanced has been discontinued,” the message read. “In the coming days, the download links on the website will be taken down. We know this is not something you wanted to hear but it’s something we need to do. Thank you all for supporting us over the years.”

“Currently installed versions will work just fine until they become outdated in 2 years or so,” they added.
