Jax Taylor is following in the footsteps of other Vanderpump Rules cast members by opening up a sports bar with his wife, Brittany Cartwright. The reality TV couple already has experience in the food service industry. Jax worked for Lisa Vanderpump as a bartender at SUR for years, while Brittany joined him at the restaurant as a waitress shortly after they started dating. They have taken on many other business ventures since, such as starting a podcast together and becoming social media influencers.

On their podcast When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany, Jax announced that he and Brittany were opening their own sports bar called “Jax’s Studio City” together. “We started construction on Monday, and I’m really, really excited,” Jax said, adding that he was excited to finally have a neighborhood sports bar to go to. “I know in the past I’ve said that owning a bar is basically a marriage killer, but the difference is you’re [Brittany] involved just as much as I am.” Even though the bar is named after Jax, Brittany reiterated that she’s a partner in the project as well.

Jax Won’t Let The New Bar Break Up His Marriage With Brittany

Vanderpump Rules: Watch With Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright

Over time, Jax and Brittany have seen their Vanderpump Rules co-stars’ relationships fall apart over owning a restaurant. They assured their podcast listeners that what happened to Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney and Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix won’t happen to them. “The differences between some other people that we know that did a bar that didn’t involve their significant others, I’m involving mine,” Jax noted, seemingly throwing shade at the Toms and their former partners. The new restaurant will be kid-friendly during the day, and is only 10 minutes from Jax and Brittany’s house. Brittany’s recipe for “Mamaw’s Beer Cheese” will also be included on the menu.

During their time on Vanderpump Rules, Jax and Brittany’s relationship was nowhere near perfect. Jax consistently disrespected Brittany and had numerous outbursts, making her question whether she should stay with him. On Vanderpump Rules season 6, Jax admitted that he cheated on Brittany with their co-worker, Faith Stowers. The couple broke up for a short amount of time after that, but eventually got back together and Jax proposed. By the time their wedding rolled around in June 2019, Jax and Brittany were in a much better place and able to celebrate wedding of their dreams with friends and family.

Although Jax and Brittany’s new business venture could make or break their relationship, they’re in a more solid place now to be able to take on this opportunity. Ever since the Vanderpump Rules stars got married, left the show, and became parents to their son Cruz, they seem to have a healthier and more normal relationship. Jax and Brittany’s new sports bar will definitely test their marriage, but they’ve been through enough to work through it and come out stronger in the end.
