Beloved pop composer Burt Bacharach passed away on February 8, 2023 of natural causes, his publicist confirmed – he is survived by his fourth wife and his three children.

Tributes are pouring in for Burt Bacharach, the musical mastermind behind the hits I Say A Little Prayer and Walk On By. The 94-year-old passed away on Wednesday in his Los Angeles home.

Dubbed one of “pop’s greatest composers”, fans commemorated Bacharach on social media. Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson honored him as a “giant in the music business,” while the Kinks’ Dave Davies cited him as a “great inspiration”.

Bacharach achieved more than 70 top 40 hits in the US, so no wonder his net worth comes in at an impressive $160 million.

He leaves his fortune to his wife, Jane Hansen, and his three children. His first daughter, Nikki Bacharach, passed away in 2007.

Nikki Bacharach

Burt Bacharach mourned the death of Nikki after she took her own life at the age of 40.

Nikki – born Lea Nikki in 1966 – reportedly battled Asperger’s syndrome, a form of autism, for years.

The songwriter dedicated a track to his daughter in 1969, with lyrics reading: “Nikki, it’s you. Nikki, where can you be? It’s you, no one but you for me. I’ve been so lonely since you went away, I won’t spend a happy day, til you’re back in my arms.”

The heartfelt record was used as the theme for ABC’s Movie of the Week slot

Oliver Bacharach

If you attended Bacharach’s band tours in June 2016, you may have seen his son, Oliver, join him on the road as a keyboardist.

Oliver, his youngest son, is now the owner of a homemade ice cream company called Afternoon Deelite. Based in Aspen, Colorado, it is a joint venture with his business partner, Kayla.

When he’s not selling frozen goodies, Oliver is adventuring with his pup on the waters, or at the sandy beach.

Raleigh Bacharach

Oliver’s biological sister, Raleigh, is a master of public health graduate from San Diego State University. She is currently employed as a health promotion program administrator at Pitkin County.

She became engaged to her partner, Austin, in August 2022.

Cristopher Bacharach

Burt Bacharach’s adopted his eldest son, Cristopher, with his third wife Carole Bayer Sager.

According to this LinkedIn, he is a digital rights specialist and innovation associate at Universal Music Group. Cristopher’s parents split up in 1991 after nine years of marriage. He is rarely spotted with his father at public events, though he attended an AID benefit as a toddler in 1986.

Burt Bacharach was married four times

The late musician was first married to stage and TV actress Paula Stewart for five years until 1958. They had no kids. His 15-year marriage to actress Angie Dickinson welcomed daughter Nikki. The relationship ended in 1980.

Bacharach tied the knot with Carole – the mother of his second child, Cristopher – in 1982. As she was also a songwriter, the couple collaborated on several projects across the 1980s, including Neil Diamond’s Heartlight, and Arthur’s Theme (Best That You Can Do). The latter won an Oscar for best song.

Bacharach and his fourth wife, Jane Hansen, wed in 1993. Hansen is the mother of Bacharach’s two youngest children: Oliver and Raleigh.
